In my seemingly never-ending internal debate over which pistol to finalize as my EDC, I replaced the sights and the trigger on my Gen 5 Glock 19.
SIGHTS
The OEM sights were actually pretty good compared to previous Glock gens, but I wanted something with better low-vis capability and a profile to put me on target faster. The XS DXT2 sights accomplish both, I think, though the profile requires a little getting used to. The big dot front rests on a shallow notch rear.
This makes acquiring the target easy once you get used to the configuration - i.e. resting the dot on top instead of the "equal height/equal light" picture of traditional sights.
Sight installation was extremely simple. This sight uses set screws that tighten the sight in the notch, so even though the sight fits the notch tightly to begin with, the force required to drive the sight into place is reduced just enough to make the process a whole lot more pleasant. One in place, the screws are tightened with the included tool, and the sight "locks" into the notch.
TRIGGER
The Skimmer trigger is one of Glock Triggers' setups for a carry (vice competition) gun. It uses all OEM parts, and replaces the intact stock trigger as well as trigger, firing pin, and firing pin safety springs. All surfaces are highly polished, the trigger and trigger bar are OEM (modified to reduce pre-travel), and everything is straight drop-in, with no fitting required.
Trigger installation is pretty straightforward. The trickiest part for me was getting the firing pin spring cups back in place on installation -- it felt like a three-handed job, with tiny parts, in tight spaces. Other than that, things went smoothly (with the usual corrections required to the nut behind the tools).
Sights and trigger jobs were both accomplished successfully in less than a half-hour, working at pace to match the skill level and confidence level of the installer.
RANGE REVIEW
It took no time at all to get used to the new sight picture, and it was no problem at all getting on target. Glock Triggers' stated intent was to make the Skimmer "feel like a 1911 trigger pull". That would be a tall order, but I have to give them credit. The pre-travel is reduced, the grittiness is greatly reduced, and the break and reset are delightful, as far as I am concerned.

Only time will tell how much these mods improve the function of my G19, but I am optimistic. I hope you find some value in this review, and I welcome any questions you may have that I can answer.
