I won't go into the various permutations of what I've tried, but I have a solid solution now.

The x95 rail is basically at the same level as the stock, so a 1/3 co-witness optic height acts like a full co-witness height. Rather than get extra high rings or a different optic mount entirely, I used the vortex mount that came with my 1-8x and added a 20MOA riser. I didn't need the 20MOA, just the height boost, but then I got to thinking, if I put the 20MOA on backwards, would it help me cancel out some of the extreme height over bore nonsense the x95 has? Todays test makes me think 'yes'.

I put a 25 yard zero on the rifle with it impacting about 3" low with 55gr. At 150 yards it was dead on, just put the center dot of the reticle on the plate and it's good. At 200 yards, the first hash mark on the "MOA BDC-2" reticle is just about perfect. I ran out of ammo for the day before getting to try 250, but at least I know I'm solid out to 200.

The 25 or 50 yard zero doesn't work well on this rifle from what I've found, you end up doing all sorts of hold-unders at any range I have access to.

In real life people claim they can see that 20MOA downward tilt on the optic, doesn't show up too well in the photo, but the rifle sure looks cool in it. :)

I think @Sasquatch saw this post and felt he had to text me and trash talk on my Tavor.

With friends like that, who needs enemies?
Pfft, I am your friend trying to save you from that fire hazard. It looks an awfully like one of those 'micro roni' glock conversion kits.

If you want a bullpup rifle, there are better ones. One that death-dealing robots from the future would use.

Yeah- you can paint your toenails together and gab about American Idol. You just said you want the 'girl gun', instead of death-robot? Pffft.

I just identify as a lesbian trapped in mans body more than I identify with your ロボットアニメ fetish.

Height looks really close to the Steiner 4x prism I have on mine. I did an initial zero on paper at 50 and after was nailing a gong at 200 yds easily, as well as swinging bowling pins at 100.

I really like my x95, fairly accurate, I like the pairing of the Steiner 432 prism works very well. The author is wrong regarding it being a 3 MOA gun, I have gotten 1.198 MOA with my Tavor, on the other hand I have 2 Beretta Arx's those are truly 3 MOA guns, (but I love then anyway)

You might give the Meprolight M21 them Israeli honeys are sporting.......or at least a thought, but if you got the 20 MOA down to work, more power to you

well crap. i'm still like 6 months out on getting my sbr stamp approved, and all i can look forward to is 3moa?
well, that still shoots better than I do.

If you put a 20 moa base on backwards, wouldn’t the scope be pointed up in the front?

Did you buy a Factory SBR? I did one and the wait was very long

I bought it some time last year. After I consolidated all my items from different people/states, i reworked my trust and finally submitted for all the stuff i've been buying over the last... 2 years? 3 years? I got 6 stamps pending since late june, so i'm looking at that very dark winter biden was telling us about

I have a Mepro Tru-Dot RDS on mine - sighted in only for 50 yds and I'm happy with the results. In lower New Yorkistan, 50 yds is a long distance.

Wish I bought the M21 instead though (I try to stay nationality authentic) - I'm a minimalist on most of my rifles, the Tru-Dot is only slightly smaller/lighter than my EoTech 512's.

If you are willing to spend a few bucks Manticore Arms makes a few solutions that you might like:

Manticore Overwatch

I've always tried to stay away from using risers and things like that. Just one more sent of screws to worry about coming loose. Here is how I solved the same problem w/ mine:

Unity Tactical FAST Mount

Supposedly designed for guys who like to do passive NVG shooting a Red Dot. I like it because the extra height achieves the same benefit as your riser in a more integrated solution.

Either way the x95 is a great gun. So get out, shoot it and have some fun!
