Or the lack of...A well respected LE and Trainer reporting that in Memphis a while back, a 3 man entry team breeched a door, they were carrying..an MP5, HK M1 shotgun and a S&W model 59. The doper had a Beretta 92. The door burst open..doper grabs B92 and starts blasting away. In seconds 72 rounds were expended.
Not a single round hit a single soul. And folks worry about over penetration...how about air balls.

I recall a couple of post shooting debriefings where the interviewer would ask you what was the last thing you saw before the gun went off. Always amazed at the guys/girls that couldn't recall what they saw, eyes closed maybe?? Of the few that could recall, the over whelming answer was the muzzle flash or the smoke.
None of them recalled seeing the front sight or the perpetrator. None of them ever mentioned the noise of the shot(s) nor the recoil of the gun. None of them ever mentioned any back splatter even though some were at point blank ranges.
Statistics are a funny thing.....

Yep, this has been the case for a long time. Actually, I think the hit probability was higher when revolvers we're still being used
Stats got worse with increased capacity. Stress does funny things to people. You'll also find a lot of guns and gun hands being hit because that becomes the focus of attention. Of my friend and associates that have been there, done that and were victorious, it was just another training day. Proper training is really the issue. But, proper training is hard to find.

Was just watching a video by Yong Lee who is a grand master shooter and cop/cop trainer. He was saying this very thing.
He is a big proponent of target focus shooting and trains everybody that way. Says he gave up hope of front sight focus after seeing similar results.
