All of these are from White Lake, which has been an enigma the last few years as far as the health of the lake and fish.

First, caught this one the Tuesday after Labor Day. Destroyed a Z Man Pop Frogz. Probably 2 pounds or a bit better.

So these fish were caught by my buddy right in front of my house, right where I caught the one above, 2 weeks earlier. The first one was around a 10:30 on Saturday morning. Same bait, ZMan Pop Frogz. We estimated him to be a bit over 7 pounds, maybe approaching 8. I could stick my entire fist in his mouth and not touch the sides. For reference, the guy holding the fish is 6'1" about 225. Biggest fish I've ever seen pulled out of White Lake. The size of the head makes me think this beast could hit 10-12 pounds no problem.

This one was caught the very next day in the exact same place around lunch time, exact same bait. Maybe 3 and some change.

Best day of bass fishing of my life. Lots of small ones. Couple decent fish. 9 fish in the boat in 2 hours of fishing all on a whopper plopper. Wife picked up the biggest one of the day and her biggest fish ever. Gorgeous weather, great temperature, water just a touch cool. Fish were active and looking up.

My second boys first time on a big boat fishing. He did a bit of chumming, 15 minutes later he was back up and fishing.
Buy him a relief band when/if you go back. I’ve posted about it before but I mate on a charter boat. We fish 40-50 days a year (the captain and myself both have other main income). We run trips from just off the beach to 70 miles offshore. I’ve been fishing offshore regularly since I was 5 years old. I got sea sick the first time I ever went and then never got sick again until about two years ago. Once I started getting sick again I could take enough Dramamine to not get sick but I was so tired and sleepy I sucked at my job of being alert, attentive, and Johnny on the spot so to speak. Anyway I bought a relief band and it simply flat out works.

No pics, but just a little info I learned about by accident several decades ago. I was reminded about it by @Crankbait 's muscadine thread:

Channel cats like muscadines.

If you know of a spot in the areas you fish that has a muscadine vine hanging over it, there will be a gang of channels under it waiting on them to drop. They will hit just about anything that hits the water under that vine. If you have a bass-weight or inshore fly rod, you can make a "fly" from a plastic grape off grandma's fake fruit bowl ;).

Makes for a fun day.

He’s hard headed and doesn’t listen. I told him not to go in the cabin when the boat was stopped. He didn’t listen and paid for it.

That’s exactly how I got sick the first time many years ago. My father told me the same thing and I didn’t listen. I went inside the cabin on a 28ish foot Grady white and ate half a tube of bbq pringles and came out sick. I still can’t eat bbq chips of any kind 25+ years later.

I'ma hafta learn to run a fly rig. Neighbors got a cabin at Bennet Springs & have us down pretty regular. Great trout fishing, but very regulated & a lot of it is artificial fly only.

Ain't much better eatin' than fresh caught trout IMHO.

I'm going to have to tag along with you next time and infishtigate these pictures you allegedly post.

Those creeks will make a man out of you. Lol. I have not rock hopped like that in a while. The pic of the stream and my fly rod was taken with me standing up. The hole I was fishing was shoulder height to me the drop was so steep in places.
