So a month out from lifting the cab and doing major work to my 6.0 (injectors, studs, downpipe and a set of tunes) and I get news from the frame shop that the front of the frame is bent from a recent wreck.
So I was going down the road and a lady slammed on brakes to make a turn onto another road. I had two choices, slam into her or stick it in the ditch, I picked the ditch. She pulled over and gave me a shrug and the drove off. Another Ford pulled me out of the ditch, and after waiting two weeks in line to get of the frame machine I got the bad news. Insurance is going to take care of it, but it will be 3-4 weeks before I get it back just in time to start hauling chicken shit, looks like it won't get studded until this spring at the earliest.
Now for the good news the wife thought it would be a good idea for me to find another cheap vehicle for the "just in case" because if the truck goes down or the van goes down we only have one vehicle to transport the kids. I was happy to oblige and snagged a 1999 xj 5 speed inline six for 1600.00
