I'm all in for the CJ8! It is a new tub. We are prepping the new tub for paint. There is no rust on the new tub. Almost all new body panels require a little working with filler to get them straight. They get dinged in the box, careless worker drops the box anything can happen. It's very rare to get a new panel and just bolt it on. If you are ever in my area stop by. I'd be glad to show ya around. I'd even let ya buy me lunch!I soooooo want to just come to your shop and drool.
And one day, when I have the money, you'll be getting a call from me and a build sheet.
What I have long fantasized about doing is building a cj8 from the ground up with all new parts. New frame, new tub, new axles, crate motor etc.
Just out of curiosity, why repair a tub that far gone instead of replacing it. I know they make steel and aluminum tubs and I can't imagine that the cost of the new tub would be much more than the labor cost of replacing all that rust.
And the ones (at least with a TJ) that don't realize how cheap/easy it is to change the speedo gear.It occurs to me that one mistake jeep owners make is that a good number don't regear when they go with bigger tires. It is easy to pick out the ones that don't. They complain about the jeep being sluggish. And if they have the automatic it is that the shift points are messed up.
One my 2010 I used a AEV PRO CAL programmer. Wicked easy. And the ones (at least with a TJ) that don't realize how cheap/easy it is to change the speedo gear.

Thanks.Looks very good.
No room on the inside. Has a water pump pulley with out the fan and clutch on the inside. Only fan is the puller electric fan.Insert drool here.
Question why the fan on front of the radiator as well. What's on the other side?

Thanks. It’s a new Jeep color. Came on 16 or 17 models.I was going to go dark blue on mine, but I might be changing my mind after seeing this one. Great work.
Thanks.I love the glossy dark gray.
What size tires are those and did you do anything the gears?
This thread and thinking about my Jeep is distracting me from work. I am almost wanting to go with a more daily driver now.
The tires are 33X12.50R15 with 4:10 gearing. What size tires are those and did you do anything the gears?

Very doable. You can make a very offroad capable daily driver. Just means you have to be careful when offroad.

You know what Jeep stands for right? Thanks for the info. I was going to go with 35's, but I am thinking about keeping with 33's and adding a 4" suspension lift (if it will fit in the garage). I have stock 2.72 gears now and would like to go to a 4.10 or something close with some sort of traction device.
The wish list is growing for things like a hardtop, AC, and fuel injection. I clearly need more money and time.

They can be built on a budget a little at a time. REAL Jeeps are built not bought.
