I have been wanting to forge a small b&t blade for a while, so I got some shop time to forge out this little blade. Included a photo of the small carbon blank I used. Handle is Hawaiian koa with bronze pins and lanyard tube.

How long does it take you to make something like that? That is one sweet knife.

It really depends on each individual knife. But the individual steps are the same. This is a small knife so the time per step is reduced. I would estimate about 6-8 hours active bench time (including forging). Heat treating, cooling, tempering, glue up inactive time (wait time) about 30 hours. Of course that time can run concurrent with other shop time.

As far as a reference on this site ‘Pirate’ member and patriot has accumulated quite a few of my knives.
