It's looking like the pipe dream of instant F3 approvals is close to reality. I've seen them posted as quick as ~3 hours, and lots of same day/within 24 hours.

Part of the ongoing changes with the NFA/ATF. On top of that, the NFA is no longer just the NFA Branch...it's the NFA Division.

Form 3 transfers right?

You want to get rid of that SBR ps90?

Thanks President Trump

Yes.

Nope.

Wouldn't matter...no F3 if I sold it to you.

It's pretty damn stupid for F3's NOT to be instant, especially eForms! Verify each FFL in valid and info is accurate, bam, approved.

My F3's were submitted on 7/31, I'll report back if they get approved super fast.

Too bad suppressors and SBR aren't there yet!

So how do I go about buying something where an f3 is used?

The F3 is a tax-free transfer between licensed dealers. If you bought from an out of state dealer, it would transfer to you local dealer on an F3...then to you on an F4. (Same would happen between in-state dealers, but that doesn't happen often)

You could become an FFL/SOT and get them on an F3. :p

If only I had 3k a year to blow!

Due to their volume, SS is a decent indicator of the overall market. They posted this on ARF:

Over the past 7 days we have had 343 form 3's approved within 7 days and 99 of those were approved in under 24 hours. Additionally we have been in contact with the ATF and their goal is a 72 hour average for form 3's excluding paper forms.
