So at the risk of sounding or looking like a dumbass here's my question. On my AR pistol I am wanting to run some MBUS and the front is taking up quite a bit of room making my have to move my flashlight pressure switch too far back. SO is there anything wrong with running the MBUS backwards? This would save me space allowing me to run my pressure switch where I want, It just looks retarded to me! Blaze away! Calling @JBoyette and any other blaster masters!

Ignoramus here, but if it works I’d rock it and not worry about looks. If you really need that AR looks will be the last concern.

    No,
    You can run most backwards.
Just make sure to train with flipping it up backwards.
It’s a gross motor skill, so under stress you will revert to prior training or panic

Also, look into the Magpul MPro offset sights.
They hang off the side, and you just deploy, and twist the rifle sideways a bit.
Also, they work in the event of optic failure

Yep. Works just fine. As mentioned, manipulating it is the only “issue”, and that’s not something you’re often doing with a clock running. :D

They’re the magpuls so they have the button you push on each side.

How likely is it that your primary sighting system goes down? And if it does how likely is it that is is when bullets are flying at you? Put them on and start using them. You’ll be fine.

Says they pudgy guy on the couch. :p

    Kind of depends....
If you are smart, and have a Trij or an aimpoint, not very likely....
But I can’t begin to count the times I’ve seen a guy with a nice rifle and some ncstar garbage that is 100% guaranteed to poop the bed when you need it most....
I like having a guaranteed backup plan

If it’s a serious rifle and you mount a $99 optic on it you kind deserve what you get huh?

No issue but zeroing. Clockwise is now down because its backwards.

Small option that might not be a big deal but i like it.

Buy a bicycle tire intertube that the OD is equivalent to your handguard. Cut a section thats 3" long. Now you have a huge black rubber band you can slip over the handguard and place that presure pad under it at any angle / location you want.

How does anything change as far as CW vs CCW for the front. You can put that sight in front of you and “orbit” 360° around it and the up/down direction is still the same. No difference in doing that vs sitting still and rotating the whole site in front of you.

I’m running the cloud Defensive LCS so it’s a rock solid mount. Just don’t have as much room on the 12” rail like I do on the 15” ones. But I made it work. I put it on backwards. So we will see. Thanks guys. I’m running a mro so hopefully it won’t shit the bed.
