Fun fact #2: in real life, before he became an actor, Kevin Joseph Aloysius Connors (!!!), born in Brooklyn New York, was an athlete, playing professionally for the Boston Celtics, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Bears.

Fun fact #3: the original script for The Rifleman was written by ... Sam Peckinpah.
