Fuquay Gun and Gold to stay open during shutdown.

They were, maybe are, doing the same thing with ammo. Separate inventory with different pricing for what is in the store versus what sells online. Better pricing in the store, but it probably sells out more quickly because of that.

Totally makes sense.
Like I said, they may have had several available at the store and blew through them in a day or two. Those Barnes rifles went quickly, huh.

I'm all for capitalism. My post was a FWIW if you or know someone that had been hawking them for a 19 lately and were told nope, have none and don't know when any are coming in. Is he turning his back on local walk-in customers and making 21 one them available on GB?
For you to decide.

Some may see this as it's where we're at right now price /availability and some may rethink their future purchases with FG&G because of it.
I've bought several things from them, highly recommend them and will continue.

Well, I was looking for a G19 MOS recently and passed one up at FG&G. Kicking myself, I tried a few more times and could never catch even a G19 in store. I ended up picking one up on Sale at Cableas, basically at FG&G normal price.

If I could sell a G19 for what those are going for on GB, I'd be selling them there as well. We would run him out on a rail if he tried to sell them for that price in store.

Can't blame him, he has been pretty good to me in the past. Although I've seen him walk that line a time or two.

A friend has been looking for a 19 gen 5 lately and wanting to buy locally. Terrible timing right? He's called and visited most of the local shops.

He sends me a link to FG&G GB listing.
Shows 21 on hand and immediate check out option. This is current, today July 21 2020.
We both called the store today asking if they had any available in the store, we both got "no, and not sure when we'll have any."

Disclaimer is I don't know if they got a bunch in and sold out at the store recently nor am I bashing Clay.
His business to do as he wants. Thought his ammo pricing has been fair during this unprecedented time too.

Just sharing the info FWIW.

I am a little late explaining it because it sounds like several already buy from our online business too and have expalined it. Two separate inventories with each getting their own allocations and yes the store as you know blows through them VERY quickly. The store has tons of items the online department doesnt and vise versa. You will notice there is contact button on all of our online stuff this will get you to them. If you want the store call the store, its actually pretty simple. The store does not have any info on online items and vise versa. Exactly the same as many other online retailers this keeps the store from selling out an item that is still listed online.

BTW last year October 2019 I did a video explaining ammo and guns were as cheap as I had seen them in 17 years of business and it was time to load up becuase 2020 would be a disaster and prices would go through the roof and here we are. Some said I was trying to scare people into buying, not true. I have been doing this for a while and am getting pretty good at predicting trends. Election years are typically very busy gun years.

I am buying from any sources I can and paying whatever they demand because I now have no choice. I can either pay the higher prices and have inventory or not have inventory. We cant make a living with empty shelves and none of our clients online or in store will be happy either with empty shelves.

Wife drives past FG&G several times a day, as do I. She said she has never seen more cars there than she did today.

they are going to be very busy the rest of the year
I hope they can keep inventory. I have a family member who works there. He said today it was like when the Covid, and Floyd riots kicked off back in late March.

I've been buying from Clay (funny coincidence huh?) since he was in the tiny shop 15 years ago. Thrilled to see one of the best shops in the state right down the road from me.

I drove by Sat. as well and thought they looked extremely busy. I went in today and spoke to one of the employees, he said it wasn't as bad as he expected. I will say the stock didn't look much different than the last time I was there. Last week?
