Gas Explosion in Baltimore today.

Really old buildings with really old gas lines are a major problem for big cities, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
Looks like government housing ... if so I’d not be surprised to see a huge jump affordable housing problems become part of the BLM and such social justice platform especially in the major urban cities.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I just rolled my eyes so hard I got dizzy...

Just wait until it’s a white SJW (who lives in Locust Point) screaming on camera about the inequity of housing ... your eyeballs will get stuck from rolling them so hard.

The main reason I had gas removed from my house. Never have seen an “electric” home go boom

Want to bet the survivors will try to sue the owners/gov who they were happily mooching off of and likely walk away from this able to buy their own homes?
Along with the tenants of the other units demanding all units be “upgraded” ... and be compensated for their inconvenience.

Gas or electric water heater?

That one was electric. I only remember it because I lived there when it happened and was disgusted with the media for trying to sensationalize it as though every house had a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Govt. Housing? Ugh. I once assisted with a service job on the South side of Chicongo. The job was startup of a controller for the fire suppression pump on their sprinkler system. The motor protection circuit was designed to hold 6x locked rotor amps for 20 seconds before tripping the breaker. This was the first and only time I have ever seen this circuit operate on an installation. We got the building maintenance man who got a big pipe and was beating on the pump, smoke was coming out of it, and it was growling like the impeller was plugged with debris. The maintenance man insisted that the thing had just been tested the month prior, ya right. If that building caught on fire, their suppression system was destined to fail.
