They do this by having an internal battery, so it is not readily replicable. No free lunch, you got to give something to get something.I’m kind of surprised no one beat them to this. Keep the dot as low profile as possible, design it to integrate with the slide’s design, and bonus if you can get it so low that it co witnesses w std irons.
Yeah, I think that’s fine as long as the solar works well. Maybe you have to sit the gun on the window sill 1-2 days per year to ensure it has a good charge… I think that’s a very reasonable trade off. They do this by having an internal battery, so it is not readily replicable. green. I wasn’t sure I would like that but I am a fan of green dots now.Which one red or green?
I have one of the Holosun green dot for my PCC, but everything else I have is red. Looking at this because I had trouble finding the dot on my G34 and it looks a lot better than my vortex.green. I wasn’t sure I would like that but I am a fan of green dots now.
I ordered mine from Midway on Sunday and delivered Thursday.I have one of the Holosun green dot for my PCC, but everything else I have is red. Looking at this because I had trouble finding the dot on my G34 and it looks a lot better than my vortex.
Where did you get it from. Every place I found online is out of stock or has a 27-30 day shipping window (which means they do not have it in stock and are waiting for a shipment)).
Thanks.
Finding the dot was not a problem as it is so low that your muscle memory from drawing and aiming with iron sights works. How was it in finding the dot? When I shot some matches with a vortex dot on my G34, I had trouble finding the dot when drawing the pistol and after reloads (did not install suppressor height sights).
Hope your experience will be as positive as mine. Let us know how it works out for you.Picked one of these up yesterday off the M4Carbine forum to go on the G19 MOS I have on the way. Paid $315 for it new in the box. Looking forward to trying it out.
Will do. Thanks.Hope your experience will be as positive as mine. Let us know how it works out for you.
UPDATE:
Hit 1,000 round milestone this weekend. Sight still working as expected.
I can't understand how the Holosun auto-adjust feature is so bad. My $99 Riton is MILES ahead of Holosun in that regard, both in how smoothly it adjusts (not that notchy/stepped level of illumination like the Holosuns), as well as getting it "right" for the lighting conditions.I loved these when I checked it out in store. However, unless they have changed, the auto light sensor was a problem using it in darkness with a flashlight. The dot would wash out in the light when using it as defensive tool. Daytime range, no problem. Once again, a great idea and low profile.
@Derek8404 was right about this when I brought it up a while back. Just leave it daylight bright and lock it. Still going. Still a strong recommendation.I know this is an older thread but just checking in to see if @keepcalmandcarryon or anyone else is still using the SCS? If so are there any issues to report?
I just picked up a G49 and I’m looking to dip my toes into the pistol optic world with it.
Are you using the standard Glock sights with it or something else? I’ve got a spare set of the Glock night sights that I was thinking about using but if something better is available, I’d be interested in hearing about it. Possibly just blacked out front and rear?Still going. Still a strong recommendation.
I use the standard plastic Glock sights. small and unobtrusive. I don’t want any bright front sight taking my eye off the dot.Are you using the standard Glock sights with it or something else?
