Glock to Release 10 Round, G43X Pistol

Sootch00 has a video on the 43x and one for the 48 if you wanna look him up on YouTube
I watched one of those yesterday, notwithstanding that I have absolutely no respect for him. He’s about as objective as Maxine Waters.

I still don’t see a purpose of the 48 or 43x over the 26 to my way of thinking but to each their own I guess.

GTs has them for pre order. Looks like they keep the pricing the same as the 43.

We had a 43x and a 48 come into work today (although we aren't supposed to sell any until Tuesday).

I handled them both and I really like the 48.

I am one of those guys with big hands but short fingers. The 43 is too small for me. The 19 and 26 are doable, but not really super instinctive.

The 48 fits me just right. It is ugly as all get-out, but I am going to get one as soon as I am allowed.

The side by side pictures below are the 48 grip beside my 19 Gen 3.20190118_140217.jpg

I have a G43 and added Hyve Technology extensions. The gun is not very shootable without them. Glock basically is making a gun that needs no extensions and that is all. 1985 to 2019 Glock looks and shoots the same.

There are better options and I purchased it- CZ2075 RAMI with 10 round and 14 round magazines included. Manly guns are made of metal.

I pocket carry and I'd prefer to carry a 16 oz plastic gun in my pocket that will get sweat on than a 26oz metal gun. Not a better option really. Just a different one.

And I can shoot the 43 nearly as well as a 19 out to 20 yards.

Well I wear skinny jeans and a halter top so even a derringer prints like a chubby.
Seriously, you have to have some really baggy britches to pocket carry a gun.Sagging is for the rappers and plumbers.

Thank you. I LOLed. :D

I'm 6'3" 220, and was born when Eisenhower was in office.
Skinny jeans last worked for me in 1983.

An LC9 w/cheap uncle mikes pocket holster size 4, will fit in the front pocket of everyday wrangler blue jeans but it wants most of the pocket. It's snug, but still enough room to slide your fingers down in without fighting. It prints a-bit, but not ridiculous and you can still sit down and all that. But yeah it's not an LCP.
I was working with my plumber buddies yesterday. One of them had the new G45 he wanted to show me. First time I'd seen one. Once you get past the somewhat odd look, it feels pretty good and does balance well. He's jonesing for that new G48 too, thinks it'll fit his hands better with the single stack gig.

Here is what is going to happen. They will buy the new G43x or G48. Then someone will immediately come out with grip extensions and everyone will get some. Instantly it becomes their G19.

Check out savane brand dress slacks. Big ass pockets. I pocket carry my G43 in a sticky holster all the time. They aren’t “skinny jean” or “athletic cut” but they aren’t hammer pants either. just plain front (or pleated) slacks.

Edit:
Edited the X out. I don’t have a 43x. Just a 43. Brain was broke.

I don’t understand this post. My understanding was the 43x and 48 both had a g19 length grip. Only single stack. Why put an extension on it wouldn’t that make it a g17 grip?

I just did some figuring between the specs Glock sent me today and my 43 & 19...

So the 48 is virtually identical dimensionally to the G19 but 1/4" narrower in the grip and about 3/16" narrower in the slide...

What's the point? The 43 is a substantially smaller gun in every dimension. That's the only reason it's a worthwhile trade-off in capacity. I'm not giving up 50% of my magazine capacity for maybe a ¼". Most people's holsters account for that...

For appendix carry, I think the 43x might actually be useful after taking a second look. For 3-4 o'clock, the grip kills the other dimension advantages for me...
The point is that Glock has made a Canadian legal Glock. They'll of course sell tons here as well though. Canada's minimum handgun barrel length is 105mm. Glock made the 48 with a 106mm barrel to be legal in Canada. Also, 10 rounds is the highest magazine capacity they can have in a handgun along with a lot of states here. There's a mix of reasons Glock made the 48 beside giving us more to grip onto for example. It and the 43x offers a nice full grip for most hands. I handled one of the 48s today. I could have bought it but passed. I just missed the 43x going out the door. The trigger on the 48 had a very nice clean break. Trigger pull felt a little heavy but why not....it's going to be a carry piece for most.

They have one.

In full disclosure I will probably wait till they introduce a black slide version and it's been out a few months. Every time I decide to be a guinea pig for a brand new gun I'm always the lab sample that doesn't survive.

Saw them both at the gun show this morning. They feel surpassingly nice, like a plastic 1x2 instead of the usual glock plastic 2x4. Didn't care for the two tone look, makes them look less glock like, but I'm sure they'll come out with other colors in time.

They should sell a lot of them.

Glock is losing ground with CZ’s presence the last 20 years. Moreso in the last 3 years. They are worried. They should be worried.

When most police departments are carrying CZ's they may start worrying.

I got to fondle a 43x and 48 at the gun show today. I have never had much love for Glocks but both of these got my attention. Better grip angle and just felt good in my hands. Hate to say it but a 43x may be my next purchase (unless I cave and get an EMP 9 first).

I really don’t think it’s as doom and gloom as you present it.

Glock entered the realm of forever guns years ago. CZ and their “modern” line of handguns is not there yet.
No doom and gloom intended. Glock is branded heavily. But as a business man you understand even a 2 percent loss to another brand could be the difference in a balance sheet profit or loss. They both are great guns. I have seen twice the inventory on display in my area over last year. Glock is worried. The US market is a make or break country for gun sales.

When most police departments are carrying CZ's they may start worrying.
The educated buyer could care less what the military or LEO carry. The less educated rely on the past names and are unfamiliar buyers with one or two guns. The majority of guns sold are to owners with many, many guns.

Yall are fixated with the grip length....its not the length, but mostly it's the circumference of the grip
Of a Block that makes it about as ergonomic as ...well a block of 2x4.

The 43 wasn't an upgrade over a 5 shot revolver for me. But the 48 is slim, longer barrel and sight radius, and same capacity as the P365 but probably reliable...and mags aren't gonna be 40 a piece.

It's a win imo.

Got to fondle a G48 today. I maintain they will sell a metric buttload of them. If you're interested in the G43x and you already have a G43...buy the G48. You can put the G43 slide on the G48 grip and have a G43x with a black slide. One for summer...one for winter...or whatever. The metallic slide color is not that bad either. Either way...G48 will be one of Glock's biggest selling guns the next few years.
