Did a little modification to my bench rest rig and would like to see what yall think ? I noticed some slippage from the rifle against the rests vinyl coating allowing the rifle to creep backwards making me constantly adjust the elevation to compensate. So, I added some wool felt to the rest pads and to the stock at the contact points and noticed that it definitely added some friction. I don't know how well this is going to work out, but Im heading to the range this Friday after work to find out.. Cleaned the bore, but will fire enough to foul it enough for some accurate shots the day before the match. Its been 300 + shots thru the stainless barrel and it was still really clean, hardly any fouling using the Wolf Match Extra ammo. I got 3rd place last month and Im really working to win this months Hunter rifle class. Last month, I lost by 8 shots that went into the 9 ring out of a 100. Im hoping the upgrade in ammo and the rest mods since last month will do the trick. If anyone is interested in this indoor 50 yard bench rest comp using a wooden stock hunting rifle that's held in Rowan county, send me a message.
