Working on deer load for sons new 6.5 creedmoor, I have 100gr partitions and 1lb of staball 6.5 powder. Both chosen because I was looking for a light bullet to reduce recoil and powder because thats all I could find. Hodgedon is the only data I can find with staball, but its with the 100gr nosler ballistic tips. My question is, if I use noslers coal for partition with charge data for the ballistic tip from hodgdon I should be good right? Obviously I will work from starting charge.

If you knew someone with quick load they could run the numbers for you. Anyone here got it?

I will definitely go slow. Been about 4 years since I've been on the bench. I was no expert, and I've forgot more than I knew! Lol!

My Nosler manual doesn't have the 6.5 Creedmoor but for a close relative, the 260 Rem, they list show the 100 Gr Partition and Ballistic Tip with the same data--your plan could work ;). The listed COL will probably work just fine, but for a bolt action, I pay little or no attention to listed cartridge overall lengths. You need a length that will 1) fit and feed from your magazine, 2)NOT jam the bullet into the rifling, and 3) have enough bullet in the case neck to provide a firm grip. Its a good idea to do fit testing with the firing pin removed.
