Good riddance Gander Mountain

Saw some surprisingly good new gun prices at the Winston store today. They're clearly towards the end of the liquidation as the store isn't even full of product anymore. I'd say their firearms department is less than half full. The guy told me they'll be done by the end of August assuming their inventory lasts that long.

Finally, the prices make it worth taking a look. I did my part by buying a small bottle of bore cleaner.

By surprisingly you mean???

Greensboro, Fayetteville and Winston Salem stores are staying open per the new CEO.
Fayettenam needed one more overpriced gun store like I need more hemorrhoids.

Maybe the Petite Hi Point Carbine lady will be in shortly to visit them also.

Still kinda on the high side but hey someone may end up with a "deal"

Well, PSA's running the Shield at $320 shipped free. Time you add the tax to GM and the FFL to PSA, there're right about there. Didn't expect to ever see them be competitive on guns, even at the end.

I was going to go pick up a reel, they were supposed to be 30% off. This reel sales for 120 give or take online. The price at Gander was marked 179.99. Passed on it. The fishing takckle was 50% off, I picked up a few packs of hooks. The guns were marked above msrp for the 30% off new and 40% off used. A few ok deals on used firearms, nothing I had to take home. I spent 6 dollars on fishing hooks, some Octupus 7 circle for cats, and and 1 and 3 kahles for flounder.

My friend bought some scope mounts, and trailer accessories, 50% off.

Cleaned up on traps and a few other items at 50% off.

Finally stopped at the Fayetteville store since they put out a sign stating 30-70% off...I bought some camo clothes for the grandkids, not paying more than $7 per item and a pair of hunting boots for my grandson for $20 (marked down from $80).

The clerk said they would be open for another week or two, then they would close and reopen in Feb-March of next year under the new "Gander Outdoors" name.

^^^^

Usually when that scenario plays out it's just a guy from long island. I swear they think NC is the wild wild west.

bastards get pissed off when they realize NC taxes government pensions.

I've had several issues with folks from Long Island for those and similar reasons.

Went to WS store tonight ( @sixtysevensg you there tonight? ), wandered around a bit, nothing that really tickled my fancy for their asking price.

Nah, I was there last Saturday. I needed some fishing line, but the highest test they had was 10lb.

They had some used guns half off yesterday in Raleigh. Saw a Tokarev for $99. 30% off new pistols and 40% off rifles.
Some actual good deals finally. Nothing I needed though.

Apparently the Mooresville store sold their massively overpriced M1 Carbine....as it was gone when I stopped by yesterday.

The guy at the Winston store told me they move some guns between stores to get them sold. He said there could be one more shipment coming to them before the end.
