Good video..after EMP

The only EMP currently comes from nuclear weapons and the sun. If a nuclear explosion happens, EMP will be the least of our worries We'll most likely have some warning of a solar burst large enough to destroy components.
A single bomb 250 miles up over the center of the USA would generate an emp pulse that would cover about 1200 mile radius. Field strength would vary but grid would be wiped out. The blast would be outside the atmosphere.

What if you never leave home? Most of my customers work from home and Amazon brings them everything.
Then basically you stave to death in your home waiting to be rescued.
The good news is that within 4-6 weeks you will make a nice stash surprise for looters and marauders. What’s inside? Probably nothing good, that’s why they starved to death, but they might have something cool.

Is what I said,. Nuke goes off and we have bigger problems.

No I was think they become the maurauders. Or their bitches....

But either way I aint leaving the farm. YMMV

If you are a reader of novels, look for an author named A. American. He has a series of novels of his travels trying to get home after the same scenario happening to him. Very interesting reading and informative.

I follow him on social media. I like the books but The Home series reads like a nascar driver thanking his sponsors.

"As I was carrying my Cold Steel tomahawk, my Smith and Wesson classic series 29 in my trusty Kenai chest rig held tight." [emoji849][emoji1787]

When he does get specific like that I've always assumed it's to educate. I remember in one of the early books he specified the exact radio Sarge gave him, the antenna he used, his charging setup, etc.

One of the comments was to have a foldable bicycle ...help get you home faster and possibly safer....

DS
I've always said if I was caught a long way out my first priority would be to buy a bicycle from a homeowner while people were still clueless.

My GF once bought 2 high quality folding scooters, the kind you stand on with one foot and push with the other. I thought that that might be a good compromise space wise to store in a vehicle. Not as fast as a bike but you could stack/strap a lot of gear on it and coast downhill.

Be the COMPLETELY "grey man" in the video that has a Kryptek camo ballcap, epic operator beard, and a OD molle backpack. I like the above suggestion of a skateboard instead of a folding bicycle. I can totally see this guy on a longboard in a downhill tuck. It gives us preppers a whole new set of options. Nobody will notice that your Team Wendy bump helmet with nods isn't just a protec with a go-pro. You'll be good to go....you'll be home before anyone realizes they can't use their i-phone to Google images of Tony Hawk to compare him to the blurrr of tacticool manliness that just buzzed them harder than Maverick in an F-14. Call it a Marty McFly-bye...

Jokes aside,,, in my opinion if you are ready for EMP you are ready for most survivable scenarios. I thought the video was good enough and practical. Now that I think of it every vehicle has space for a skateboard or a foldable scooter....may save some time and steps if you have a long trek to get home.

He mentions good footwear, but if he didn't I would also suggest a change of socks be stuffed in them. Hiking in wet socks sucks; nice to have some dry ones along just in case.

My backpack is way lower key than that, I'll look like an 90s college kid and not operator.

But otherwise I don't see anything wrong with what he's saying.... except maybe the flashlight? Will an LED flashlight work after an EMP? There is a small circuit in there driving the LED and such.

Depends on a lot of factors. Field intensity primarily. Maybe wrap in paper then foil or mylar bag. Flashlight doesn't have much wiring to act as antenna so maybe...
