I got a notification about trending threads on some forums I am on. Someone was selling 1000 rounds of .45 ammo for $145. It definitely got my notice. On further investigation, @RetiredUSNChief 's old account on CSC got hacked. Honestly it was a little funny because they also moved his location to Utah. Anyway. Be aware. Hacker's gonna hack.

For sale is 1000 rounds of Federal American Eagle .45 ACP ammo. This is 230 grain FMJ brass cased, non-corrosive factory ammo. I have 2000 rds available.

That's funny, his account here got hacked a few weeks ago.

Anybody who knew Chief knows he would never actually part with ammunition. I would be immediately suspicious.

Yeah, it was hacked. I haven't logged in there in a few years. I opened up another account there to contact them and let them know it was, indeed, hacked.

And HELL'S NO I WOULDN'T PART WITH AMMO THAT CHEAP!

Back "in the day" when I stockpiled most of my .45 and 9mm ammo, it was WWB from Walmart. 100 round boxes of .45 was $19.95 and 9mm was $9.95. That was what...25 years or so ago?

That would be selling my ammo at a loss, less than what I paid for it a quarter century ago!

If I'm going to give it away, it'll be because I'm literally giving it away. You know...they way we all occasionally share a box or two with fellow shooters on the range.

At least they caught on very quickly.
