Nope, not shaken nor stirred, just shot. Took Papa, Mama, and Baby to Woody's for some shootin' fun.

This is Papa (Martini Henry MkIV 577/450) and Baby (Martini Cadet .310)

and Mama (Martini Enfield .303)

Papa's target at 100 yards. The bullet I use is .002 undersize since I don't bother to paper patch so the rifle actually gets more accurate as the bore fouls!

480 grains of persuasion pushed along by 80 grains of FFg equivalent. You have no doubt when you shoot this round!

The .303 was the most accurate of the three at 100 yards shooting factory S&B ball but the incredibly hard trigger pull makes it hard to get the good shots. I had to hold at 7 o'clock to get in the 9/10 ring.

Lots of fun...now to clean!

Choot 'em! I sold my BSA Cadet in .218 Ackley Bee. That .303 looks real nice.

I shoot .32 SW longs in the Cadet. My handloads use Unique and Hornady swaged SWC bullet. I load 'em to about 1100FPS near the muzzle and the soft bullets upset to grip the rifling. The Cadet is really accurate and quiet too. with Factory .32 Longs in just makes a 'boof' sound when fired.

Love me some antiques! How do you clean your brass after shooting BP? I put mine in an US cleaner with a water/vinegar mix and it does a good job of preventing corrosion.

I let them soak in a bucket of water with dish soap for an hour or so. Then I take 'em out, shake them with the soapy water inside (with my finger over the opening of each one), pour out the black water and dunk them in clean water. Then I put them on an old cookie sheet in the oven at about 150 for an hour to dry them.

ZULU was/is one of my favorite movies of all time, and since watching it getting one of the Martinis has always been a unicorn for me.
