If I want to put together something like this, minus the PEQ, then I'm looking at KAC handguard, broomhandle forward grip (I already have), ACOG, Matech rear sight, and a base rifle, correct? I don't care about role marks, but what would you build this on if you were going to start with a factory 16 inch M4 style rifle? And where on earth can I find a KAC handguard? Seems like everyone has the covers and no one has the handguards in stock.
 
If you wait a bit, KAC does put blem RAS rails on their site periodically.

I would also recommend going the 14.5 barrel length and have a muzzle device p&w. I did one awhile back and used a closed tine surefire flash hider to keep the general look.
 
Use the google-izer to search the KAC M4 rail, be patient, and you'll find one. That's how i found the A4 version on the cheap.
 
Go 14.5 and weld the flash hider. A 16 inch M4 looks ugly to me.

I found my RAS rail used. Just keep an eye out. There’s a few sites that sell stuff for “clone boys”, like Onyx Arms, shield&spear armament, thoroughbred armament. Maybe contact them and see if they have any coming in soon.

You can also run an Aimpoint Comp m2/m3/m4 if you don’t want to spend Acog money. I got my Acog used as well. So you can save a chunk of money there if you don’t care about the tritium being depleted.

If you want it now, look at the FN M4, already has everything you want but think comes with 16” barrel (could be wrong)

I built an all Colt several years ago for sub $1k but that was because I got a steal on a lot of stuff.

Definitely agree with pinned 14.5”, all my full size rifles but two (M16A2 clone and M16A1 16” carbine) are pinned 14.5” pinned

Probably going to be a while from the looks of things I didn't realize people were all up in the GWOT larping these days. I just wanted to build one like a family member carried.

Holy crow I'm lazy but not $1800 lazy. That would be a $2800 rifle with the ACOG.

Since we have an M4gerys thread going... here's mine. This started off as a 6920 and has gone through several iterations. Here you see it with a 14.5 p/w Colt Socom barrel, DD Omega, AP Pro, and Hiperfire EDT2.

It is currently setup the same except I swapped the Pro for an Eotech and magnifier.

Love the Omega, btw.

I have that same raggedy assed office chair peeling in the same damn places.


To OP, check out Shark Arms. Schizophrenic website, but gets in lots of surplus stuff that could be used on an M4 clone.
