Just picked up a carbine length side gate 45/70 in the standard steel finish. I’ve always coveted a Mad pig custom, but it’s still a little rich for my blood. I don’t plan on suppressing it, but was wondering if anyone had bought reasonably priced handguards/ stocks/ rails for these and what your buildouts are like. I’d like to have this as kind of a truck/deer gun combo.
Also what optics are people running on these, for sub 100 yard shooting? Thanks

I really like the idea of the Midwest Industries mlok handguards for mounting a handstop, forward-mounted bipod and a light on a lever action rifle. It doesn't have to look super tacticool, just use it to put enough on there to be a distinctive advantage when shooting. It's a mod I want to do to my own Marlin 336w lever action rifle when I have the spare change, and I don't think they're too expensive.
