I love HK weapons. I own a bunch of their handguns from the MK23 down to the USP45CT, HK45CT, etc. I wish I owned more HK weapons, but I'm just one of the poors...

That said... WHY IN THE HECK is the US giving Germany $33.5M to make ANOTHER variant of the M16? It's just another AR!

Couldn't they give that money to an American company who could make these things? Colt, Ruger, SOMEBODY!

I love HKs, but it's just another AR pattern rifle. Let's keep that money in our own local economy...

Rant over...

I just wish we could get back to American made products that work. We need to be paying out contracts to American companies...
If they would start making quality guns instead of seeing how many they could make per day/month/yr and use quality materials,we probaly could. All these guns companies are interested in is $$$$. JMHO

So, basically another piston driven AR10? I kinda think they just wanted to throw a little cash to the Germans on this, for whatever reason. All military purchases aren't based on the best price for the same weapon.

Agreed, there is a fundamental issue with the leadership mentality in many of these companies, and it’s not exclusive the firearms manufacturing. We as a society have been conditioned to replace products frequently so we, as a whole, accept products that don’t last. This allowed companies to continue to cheapen the product and show incremental profit margin increases. From their view, it seems that it’s more rewarding to sell a new widget every 5-7yr rather than having millions of widgets in use for 10-20yr because they’re just that good.

I swear I thought I read that the packages were $13500 per rifle. It was the same price point as the KAC. That includes the S&B scope, suppressor and parts for X amount of years.

You should read this article. I agree totally.
