Anyone have any first hand experience with the 507c on a pistol?

I have a pair of type 1 RMRs on G19 MOS guns. The type 1s haven’t given me any problems and I haven’t yet been able to stomach the price to upgrade to type 2s, especially since wanting a new 1911...So, I have another MOS gun currently with no O for optic. I’m thinking of getting the Holosun. I normally don’t buy the “budget” optics as a subscriber to the “get what you pay for” line of thinking, but this little red dot has me interested.

That eotech like reticle is what interests me most. Seems like Hlpressley gets this in from time to time for ~$265. I don’t have the cash now for one, but may soon, so...has anyone here tried these out on a pistol? Does the eotech-like reticle make a difference over the standard dot?

I’d be potentially putting one of these on a g19 MOS with the RMR plate.

If I was going with something other than Trijicon or Leupold the Holosun would be my first choice. Check out Aaron Cowan on YouTube, he does reviews on all of the red dots on the market right now and I believe the 507c has tested the best, behind the RMR and DPP.

Here’s the review I was talking about

Here’s the review I was talking about

When talking about the body of the optic he eluded to the RMR having the best design and everyone else is competing for second. Interestingly enough, the body design of the RMR is the number one complaint that I hear from 99% of real world users as it significantly reduces the field of view, which in my non operator opinion, is extremely important. Skills developed on the range, or YouTube, are worth nothing if you can’t see.

I have a few slides being milled for the 507C right now. Once they are back I will be doing some testing of my own to see how they stack up to my DPP and RMR. I personally won’t be dropping my gun, because well, I generally don’t drop my guns. I will just be shooting it, because well, that’s what my guns are for, shooting. With that said I don’t expect the 507C to surpass my DPP as that is IMO the best option available at this point. At least from a sheer shooting perspective. However, I do think the 507C offers some advantages over the DPP from an EDC/concealed carry perspective. The RMR, meh, not a fan. I will leave those for the gunfighters and Instagram face shooters.

So he wasn’t at all talking about which had the best FOV. What he was talking about there is durability in the body design, and while he didn’t mention the optic ( but we all know which one he was talking about) the Trijicon RMR does in fact have the best design for rugged durability. The shape of the hood focuses the impact of a drop onto one of the sides, which are the strongest point, rather than on the top of the hood which is far more likely to bread the glass.

I have several RMRs and a DPP and I think both are excellent optics and they each have their pros and cons.

You’re right.

I would personally take FOV over concrete dropping ability any day. The chances of me needing to see my target are about 100%. The chances of me needing to drop it on concrete, well, not so much.

Who is doing the milling and do have finish issues? I have been thinking about putting one on my P226.

Sighted my 507c in today. I can’t say I was as impressed as I thought I’d be. I was actually better with just the 2moa dot, like my rmrs, nit the eotech circle with the dot. It may just take some getting used to though. It didn’t flicker at all after 150rds, can’t say that about both my RMRs before a battlewerx plate fixed that.
