Looking for the "best" IDPA holster recommendation for IDPA. One I'm currently using has built in retention, which I feel is slowing me down.

Thanks in advance.

What do you mean built in retention? Do you mean level 2 retention as in a button or level you have to activate in addition to normal holster friction?

Blade Tech and Comp Tac work great. And adjustable.

I use a Dara Holsters Action Sport holster for IDPA, and I like it just fine.

I've got a Bladetech on my USPSA belt that's just fine too.

I am not sure what "best" really is in this situation, but you need to be able to draw from it quickly, hide it under a concealment garment, and have it conform to all the IDPA holster regulations. I think that there are lots of holsters that will do that quite nicely. I have several that fit the bill for a 1911 but generally just use an old leather Safariland thumb break holster from the mid 1970's from which I removed the thumb break feature. I do not like the idea of having to unsnap a strap or push a button when I want to draw quickly.

chiefjason does a very nice hybrid owb holster for a good price. I just received two he did for me, and I'm very happy with them. Simple, easy draw and good retention.
