I shoot my PSA AK-V lights out. Easy to put rounds in the “grapefruit” (a la hackathorn) from 5-50 meters with an sig Romeo.

Interesting to me is that I seem to shoot my PSA 11.5” 556 AR pistol with irons next best

Then LMT patrol carbine with holosun

Then Carolina Hammer 7.62x39 w irons

Then hammer w red dot…

Go figure

If 9mm has been good enough for decades of swat etc…I guess it will be good enough for my house

Longest in house shot would be 10-15 yards.

Closest long gun to me (at night) is my suppressed AR-9. 32+1 rounds of HST in it, with a second mag sitting next to it.

I sighted mine in at 100’. 7” barrel and a SiCo Octane 9. Rail mounted light. 1x prism sight so batteries are never an issue.

I wouldn't feel undergunned with a PCC within 10-15 yards for sure. Especially with mags full of gold dot or HST.

A 27-33rd stick mag of Speer Gold Dot 124gr+P will put a hurting on at least a couple someones if your aim is true and your reaction speed fast. Hard to go wrong with a good PCC in that role. :D

Those decades of 9mm SWAT use, I suspect were dominated by full auto MP5's, although I don't have the stats.

While I may not necessarily agree 9mm carbine is the "best" choice for home defense, it certainly has it's place and benefits. Individual circumstances vary.

I feel like 36 rounds of HST plus 4 more 35 round mags should get it done… or it wasn’t getting done anyway
