House Dems propose bills to stop online ammo sales, ban mags

Not you Daedalus...

Same ole crap! Never let a tragedy go to waste...I'm actually a little more scared some of this will get through with the "R"s in charge than I was when BHO and the "D"s were in charge.

Will they want to ban reloading gear, reloading manuals,
CNC machines, destroy patent documents too?

Real PD lastnight on A&E, guy admits to having sawed off shotgun in car and ammo.
Looked like a 10ga sawed off, unloaded but had 18 rounds of 3.5" shells.
Since he was convicted for burglary, his violation got jacked up as top felony in Indiana,
plus he just won the BATF&E First Prize for the SOS.

I guess the law(s) did not do a thing to stop this idiot.

Well, wonder how long before the buyer’s market is gone? Hoarding of mags, ammo and such starting up again? Thru the Odumba years and even the 2016 Hildabeast run I made some great trades of evil black rifles for sweet wood and blued firearms ... now I only have 2 ARs so guess I need to get building again.

Just heard a Lynyrd Skynyrd song that I haven't heard in a while that might fit in the near future..."Gimmie back my bullets"!

I guess I gave the Dems too much credit. I figured they would, having seen how broad gun control measures brings a huge amount of opposition, try to keep their next ban proposal as narrow as possible - e.g., limit it to bumpfire stocks, in order to maximize passage. But they can't seem to help themselves. Or they could be setting up for bargaining - asking for way more than they know they can possibly get and then negotiating back.

In any case, we have to press our Congress critters to just say NO to all of it.

Also, the measure would require the vendor to report any individual sales of more than 1,000 rounds in a five-day period to the U.S. Attorney General.

Good thing it says "over 1000", it would be annoying for them to have to change case quantities to 999 rounds just to use the ammo buying loophole.

Yes, you did give Dems too much credit.
They don't argue like we do. Give and take.
They see an open door and bum rush it.

Eventually, yes. The plan is for incremental restrictions on gun rights whenever they get a chance. The end game is, of course, confiscation, but they are showing their hand. Sort of like drypowder said, the Dimocrats get such a hard on for gun control they just can't help themselves.

They might as well retitle the bill "open season, no bag limit, on Democrats" for the effect it would have. We talk about where the line in the sand is, but dammit these idiots keep looking for a lot of people's line.

Edit to add, we were at dinner the other night and one of those types actually said they believe if they can get rid of our guns the violence in places like Chicago would stop. o_O

I tend to agree with the dinner-guy's statement. I'm convinced the majority of gun-toting criminals are anxious to make a trip to the pole-lease station to turn theirs in. Hell, if they pay cash for guns that are turned in, there will probably be a dramatic increase in gun thefts just before the program begins.

@Jeppo here's the irony. What prompted the discussion was mention of they had or knew of some visitors that left their gun in their car and it was stolen along with other items. The theft victim was meticulous about keeping serial numbers and his items, except the gun, we're recovered. The detective said that was long gone, is out on the street and will never be located.

These idiots get their panties in a wad about wanting to prohibit folks from carrying guns on their person and then get mad when they're stolen from vehicles. They're terrified at the idea of someone having it on their person, where it is safe, trigger is covered, and it won't jump out if it's holster and "go off" so they demand that they be left in a place where they get stolen. Stupid and dumb.

Yep....
1,000 rounds every payday is 26,000 rounds in a year.

No, they’ll introduce taxes, environmental regulations, and shipping regulations that make it unprofitable for companies to sell primers and powder at retail. Nothing in the constitution says that primers can’t be a buck a piece, or ten.

“There is simply no good reason why sportsmen and women need more than 10 rounds in a magazine,” said Esty in a statement. “No sportsman or woman needs 30 rounds to kill a deer. It’s shameful that we protect our deer better than we protect our people.”

The 2A - it doesn't mean what you think it means, dear congressman/lady.

Just as I do not take financial advice from people without money. I do not acknowledge the authority or advice of people who do not own guns to dictate my gun laws. III%

I ain't sayin that my guns would ever end up in the hands of a felon with intent to do illegal things, but it is looking like they are trying to make every gun owner I know a damned felon. If I am already a felon............ what is there to loose short of life and freedom to roam? This is not a good road to be on and to be honest, I ain't seeing any detour or exit signs.

The problem in this scenario will be the retailers themselves. Can you think of a single retailer that would not comply?

Well, right away she's a liar, because this would do NOTHING to reduce anything she said.

Yeah, just imagine if every last one of them refused to comply with things like the 4473 form.

The issue is, and I know you (and everyone else here) know this, there is no way in hell everyone would refuse to comply. - That's our issue. If three or four refuse to comply, three or four will get anally savaged by the ATF and FBI, and not a single wants to be that martyr.

Look at these mag bans. They practically all rushed to put up "no sales to X, Y, Z"
