People get scared of the government whenever a high profile shooting happens. Then they realize they probably shouldn't have said half the crap they said or are just scared they will be on a list.

@JoeT Im not going to ask that you stay, I am going to ask what's making you want to leave?
I avoid certain threads, sometimes I just dont feel like stepping into something like the XYX thread that's just drama because I work with high schoolers, I get my fill five days a week. But I am curious what would push someone away after a month or so, especially since they/you ponied up a little bit of money.
Yeah, 20 bucks, many of us make more than that in one hour, but, still, you gave that up...what changed your opinion?

Look, some folks I wouldnt question them leaving, wouldnt care. But when a pretty 'normal' guy leaves, you have to start asking why...at least I think you should.
Be curious what could push away certain members, especially the paying type.

I thought there was a whole thing when this forum was set up that the member's content was theirs and when they left if they chose to have it deleted it would be. Seems like it happened as well.

This won't delete your account, but it might help get you further towards your goal.

A) Delete all the posts that you can.

Go to each post one by one and delete. You don't have a bunch, it won't take long.

You can't delete posts of threads you started, but you can edit the thread title and post, and just put in a period or something meaningless. You also can’t delete posts in closed threads (classifieds).



B) Anonymize your profile. Remove the avatar pic and location.

C) Use an online free email anonymizer and change the email address associated with your account.

D) Go to privacy settings, uncheck everything, and set the options in the righthand corner to "Nobody".

E) Log out



That's about the best I think you can hope for. Renewals for your supporting status will go to that email and bounce in the future. If anyone looks you up in the future, there is not much left.

I don’t recall that. But you can delete your own and I’m pretty sure nobody is gonna put it back…which is what happened to me on more than one forum. I spent the time to delete my posts, and they put them all back…including changing my username in one instance. 🙄

It's been six years, I trust gas station sushi more than my memory for most things.
Restoring content and changing the username is pretty nuts.

I think it was mentioned up thread. Fear of being tagged, put on a list, doxxed, any number of things people read about in the news these days. I’d speculate that it was nothing that happened here.
 
OK, so he wants to cancel himself. Geez... this new generation is difficult to understand. Cancel him, cancel that, cancel police, why did not the police help, don't hold the door open for me, why did you let the door hit me in the face, He hurt my feelings, she was a man, I don't like (insert favorite offensive anything that effects yourself) and cancel it. I sure like my time at the range because none of this exist. o_O
