How good/bad are ATN Thermal optics?

ATN optics are good if you get one without issues. That being said they have gotten better the last couple of years.
If you want value, look at AGM. The brand leaders for under $6k are pulsar or infiray/iray right now.

I have thought about ATN, but I am really attracted to the idea of a clip on or something that can be detached and used standalone so I don't have to point my rifle at everything but still retain that capability.
ATN sells a QD mount. I have a Thor4 and an LPVO on a QD. 10 second swap between them or carry around my thermal and attach it when needed.
I'm personally happy with mine. It did have some kind of malfunction after a year or so, shipped it to them and they had it back to me within a week, no cost for any of it.
