35kw on a 1000 gallon tank? It should work at 50% load as long as you don't let it get too low or it's not too cold out. If it's an underground tank, that should help it some.Usually I'll give the powerco 15 minutes or so to finish their automatic switching / rerouting. If it's not back on by then the generators get fired up.
We have electric horse / dog fencing and I don't like to leave it off too long. Plus my elderly mother in law is on the same electrical service as my shop, so I'm typically firing up 2 generators.
I finally finished the wiring to my 200A automatic transfer switch. Now just need to pressure test the 1000 gallon propane tank that I have sitting in the boneyard and bury it for the 35KW surplus Progress Energy Generator that I picked up last year. That will be a permanent installation wired into the ATS. After that I'll just have to worry about the shop / MIL generator.

You might end up with a giant ice ball, 30% in the tank, and a generator that won't run.
Ok. I was thinking vapor withdrawal.Liquid feed, buried tank.
Yeah, that wouldn't work too well in the winter time...Ok. I was thinking vapor withdrawal.
