I Use Windex

I use Windex for cleaning black powder. It's not all I use, but it's great for swabbing the bore during a session. And, the ammonia will take care of the corrosive salts.

Windex is the preferred cleaner of Mosin owners.

I only use to clean after corrosive ammo

The water loosens and helps flush out the corrosive salts from corrosive primers. Ammonia attacks copper jacket fouling. Don't let ammonia linger too long in a barrel, it can etch the bore.

Low odor mineral spirits for me; good brushing followed by compressed air and then wipe down / lube appropriately during reassembly … (edit: don’t own or shoot anything but smokeless powder …)
