If your getting a Tax refund

And me.
Im in the hole this year.

Yep, a big ass black effing hole that I never saw coming. GD .gov is going to wipe out my savings account so they can finance more stupid shit.

But...my roads?

I had to write a check for $214 to the Tarheel State.

As the return address on the envelope I wrote this

Taxpayer @
123 Elm Way
Somewhere, NC xXxX

Sad that I don't work in this state but I get stuck paying taxes to it.

We got a good refund from the fed, always owe the state a bit.

So, you know what I did. Bought 5,000 rounds of ammo, two new rifles, a new carry gun, a new gun belt, and pre-paid 4 training classes with Boyette....

If you actually believe that is what I did....

I was supposed to get a five figure refund last year due to an amended return on a real estate transaction. My accountant said to just let the feds keep it, or pay whopping estimateds all year, because they are going to get it all this year.

If you ever get audited and don't owe money, you need a new accountant....

Refunds are simply no interest loans to the government.

You can also think of it as a Christmas Fund, and use it to stow away money that even emergencies can't diminish. There are worse crimes in life than letting the government hold onto money for you for a year.

I used to not agree with is, thinking I could earn more on my own, but because of my wildly changing tax liability every year, and the near zero amount of interest the banks pay, and an overarching desire to stay out of dutch with the Feds, it has become shocking how much I will let them hold of mine.

Getting a refund this year. But it is a fraction of the $21,700 I paid out of pocket this year is medical expenses. And that is with a silver plan that cost $24K for the year.
Using the refund to pay down debt and some for my daughter's travel expenses to study in England for the fall semester.

My wife and I claim zero exemptions so we minimize the risk of owing. Refund is tiny so we are pretty close to breaking even
Same here but we still got some back this year. Next year will be way different as the house pays off in 3 more payments, and both kids are gone. I need to adopt one of them Syrian refugees. I've got a dead beat nephew that got back $8000!!!! He did pay in but about $2000! How the hell does that happen!? He got MY money back!

This is what makes me mad, people getting money "back" that they never paid in the first place.
