Ok, so you get fed up with a users persistent one way posting and list that user as ignored. Why then when others quote that user the content from that ignored user shows up?

I don't want to see that users posts at all. Anyway to do this?

No, you will not see the quote but you will see the other's response. May make for a confusing thread for you but you will not see anything posted by someone on your ignore list, even in the chatboc

No, you can't accomplish that without self control. As in see the name and don't read further. Most people just can't do that for some reason. Once a user is quoted by someone else that post content including the quote is in the person quotings post not the one you have on ignore.

Sure about that? I don't see quoted posts of people on my ignore list until I click on the link to show ignored content

I put fieldgrade on ignore as a test and looked at HMP's thread about two threads he posted in getting deleted. Here is a screenshot of him quoting fieldgrade's post

Read th OP That's the issue he's having.

Ignored users post don't show but if someone quotes the user than it shows up in the post of whoever quoted the ignored person.

Ill try it with the rick account in here and see if I can duplicate.

Now I understand. Reading comprehension is lacking today. Must be something with how he is viewing threads since FG's quoted post doesn't show in my view

Could it be dependent on how its quoted? Ie, as I write this, your quote has post number, member name, and member number... if you back to "old school" quoting where it's just [ quote ] content [ /quote ], would that allow the ignored content through?

Could be since we can't see how it's quoted, just the person quoting.

Ive hated some people on another forum but i never ignored anyone. I like to see all sides of the picture no matter how stupid.

I generally agree with this sentiment, but I've found that there are some folks who take up a ton of bandwidth and add nothing to the conversation. The ignore function usually gets some use when the posts are not only retarded, but predictable. When I don't need to read your stupidity to know what it says... well, might as well not have it there.

"predictably retarded"

This reminds me that we now have an "ignore" feature on Planet Xenforo. I had completely forgotten.

This hurt because i add nothing of importance and when i do add its retarded and predictable.

I've ignored people before. Krabba, tans and several others. It's usually just for a few days so I don't get kicked out.

I feel that also but I didn't want to get that "bad burito" feeling when I see a person's post quoted.

I just tried it and it works. It may have been the other site that still showed them, or the way it's quoted, or I really did have a 'bad burito'...

I'm rambling, aren't I? Anyway, on to other things.
