Looks like they are trying to ban lower parts kits, among other things....!

"By preventing the sale of AR-15 parts and accessories, the Bill would make it illegal for an individual to fix a broken trigger or stock component, rendering the rifle useless. The owner of the firearm may be required to send the rifle back to the manufacturer for repair or have to spend anywhere from $600 to $2,500 on a new rifle."

I really wish these people wanting to introduce new laws/legislature would have to provide evidence of its necessity. Like this one. How many "home built" ARs have been used in crimes? And using the "one is to many" argument is weak and without merit.

How bout one of these suits introduce a bill making it illegal to arbitrarily introduce laws without merit or evidence of its necessity.

How many bump stocks were used in a crime? This is the edge of the wedge I was "complaining" about. Trump shanked me in the back and now dems and rinos are going to pick the carcass clean.

I may have missed it but have we ever even seen the bump stock gun from Las Vegas? Or did everyone just follow the LE and media talking point.

Had a discussion recently about it. I dont buy the govs word on it. Nothing adds up and theyve given the people/us NOTHING except 3 or 4 pics from inside of the room with him under a gun...in the middle of the room...on a bipod.
Just doesnt add up.

What passes for logic these days! I guess home built AR-15s are more readily available and less expensive, rendering them a greater threat to society when compared to AR-15s purchased from a dealer or manufacturer. So the time required to learn what components will work together and how to source and assemble them makes you more likely to participate in a mass shooting.

If brains were dynamite, the average Congressman couldn't blow his nose!!!!

Hey, baby steps. Anybody remember the $100 AK parts kits WITH the barrels? Flats were what, $7-14 depending. Too many people were having build party's and a stop had to be put to that.
So, torch cut the barrel, now it is no longer economical to home build, which I think was the bigger reason for home build, not the anonymity of the thing. Now that the evil commie rifle is held in check, let's work on the AR platform since it is now the hot home build item. %80 lowers, binary triggers (or any "adjustable" trigger), hi-cap mags, drums etc., will go the way of the ban. And the funny thing is, most "firearm" deaths are caused by the asshat behind the trigger of a PISTOL!!!

That's because this has nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with denying access to the most effective tools to resist tyranny.

Noticing the way the 1st Amendment is being trampled on the past 10 years or so, you'd almost think that the plan was to have all of the evil rifles banned or at least severely restricted by now.

Last I heard, the FBI was sandbagging on the FOIA request for the documentation.

Maybe they would save more lives if they ban alcohol..oh wait, they tried that and Al Capone ate everyone's lunch.

Ban parts kits and see what happens. The price of home lathes, sintered metal printing, and 3D plastics keep falling and improving in quality.

Create a paper avalanch so large that it completely shuts down the ATF. Every gun owner wants to become a FFL would paralyze that department.

It probably wouldn't shut em down. They would just throw all the applications in a storage locker somewhere and process 1-2 a week from until the end of time. They don't seem to be in a hurry on my most recent Form 4!

So pretty much a chunk of aluminum or polymer will be in violation.

Exactly. It would give them more power over guns, not less.
