So I picked up this indoor smokless butane fueled grill for Korean BBQ. It has an induction design so it is suppose to be smokeless. I prepped up a 8 different side dishes today and marinated 3 different meats. Bulgogi (Ribeye), Kalbi (Boneless Short Rib) and Doenjang Pork on skewers. The grill worked really well. Almost no smoke. The house still smells like BBQ but that is not really a bad thing. It is about the same as when we sear steaks under the broiler. The cool thing this table top grill is that you can make the BBQ as you go and eat while it cooks just like you would at a Korean restaurant. It came with a smaller grill grate which was good for 2 people but we also ordered a larger one which should at least double its capacity. I was super happy with the results.

I hand cut the ribeye, pork and the short ribs. Next time I will make the short rib cubes a little smaller so they cook faster and make the pork skewers smaller. It was a good first run on the new grill. It worked really well. The part that really makes Korean BBQ awesome is the Banchan. We had the following. Made each one from scratch. They are the items in the little bowl. We at family style for 2. Basically cook your meat and then eat out of the small bowls and your individual bowls of rice.

Gaji Namul (Steamed Eggplants)

Oi Muchim (Spicy Cucumber Salad)

Sukju Namul (Seasoned Bean Sprouts)

Mu Saengchae (Spicy Radish Salad)

Cheonggyeongchae doenjang-muchim (Young Cabbage in bean paste)

Sigeumchi Namul (Korean Spinach)

Algamja-jorim (Braised Potatoes)

Kimchi

You’re always posting the best looking grub

I did bulgogi and algamja jorim last weekend, along with some radish and cabbage kimchi I didn't make. . Not as good as my Korean aunt, but still pretty good. Yours looks fantastic.

I actually made the same thing last night. Switched up the sides a bit and added some tenderloin pieces to the mix. Since getting this thing we have had Korean BBQ about 6 times.
