I had some great feedback on the first "mini clinic" we did back in the Spring. Several have asked me to run it again ahead of our October 30th match.

Saturday October 16th
1pm Rifle/Pistol Zero
2:30 Class starts
End by 6pm

Hosted by forum sponsor @VOD Tactical at:
438 Walker Drive
Old Fort, NC 28762

Sing up here!

The class is designed for anyone that would like to try out 3-Gun, but is hesitant because you don't know what to expect. We'll cover everything about a match from rules, etiquette, range commands and we'll shoot a couple sample stages. This is not a 'learn to shoot faster' class; it's all about being comfortable in a match environment.

The only strict requirement is a strong side OWB holster for your pistol. Shotgun is optional for the class and we'll have several available for loan. You can even use a .22lr for the class to save on ammo costs.

Rifle and pistol zeroing will be an optional pre-class bonus. If you've never established a proper zero, we'll get you sighted in at 100 yards and provide a basic drop chart for your rifle.

What to bring:
- Semi-Auto rifle and 2 magazines
- 50 rounds rifle
- Pistol w/2 magazines and secure strong side OWB holster (REQUIRED....don't show up with a floppy nylon appendix carry deal....)
- 50 rounds pistol
- Pump or Semi-Auto shotgun
- 30 rounds birdshot (optional).
- eyes/ears
- NO green tip or armor piercing ammo. If a magnet sticks to your ammo, leave it at home.
- Water/Snacks

I will have loaner gear available, including shotgun(s). If "gear" is your reason for not showing up, let me know and we'll get you sorted out. Pockets make great mag carriers!
.22lr is OK!

Come on y’all! Get signed up, then come on out and have some fun!

I’d like to get 5-6 more folks signed up for this Intro. The last session was a ton of fun and had great reviews. Don’t let equipment hold you up! We’ll have loaners of just about everything.

PM any questions!

Working on making sure I have the time off

Got two buddies to sign up already, working on another 2! (Non forum guys). Will it still carry on if there's not a minimum number of sign-ups?
Match or Clinic?

I'm sure we'll have enough for both in any case.

For the clinic, as above

Where is the match sign up? I shoot 2-gun and ready for a 3-gun match, but not sure how many guys I can talk into shooting an actual match.

I have left handed holsters and a pistol you can use.

Still time to sign up! Should be an awesome day in the mountains!

I had a very experienced 3-gunner buddy offer to come out and help with the class. So, not only will you get my expertise in how not to look like a complete newb, you'll have someone that actually wins every now and then showing you how it's done.

Depending how this one goes, are you going to do another? I’m leaving in the morning to drive 4 hours in the opposite direction for the rest of the week. 😢

Maybe in the spring. We'll see how much interest there is.

Maybe I could find a range host further east? Or, I'd be happy to share my notes with someone else that wants to put it on. Any $$ collected from this is going to the range for match props, targets, etc. so I'm not looking to make anything off of it.

This was another great class by @Tim . While it was a "refresher" for me, I still (re)learned some stuff. Lots of tips from experienced 3-gunners, great range/venue, and inspiring "work through, can do!" attitudes on the part of shooters.

Hanging out with good folks, runnin a few stages, and some (finally!) chilly Autumn weather were bonuses.

5 stars. Would eat again.

Y'all care about steel jackets? That stuff don't hurt plates.

This thread is for the clinic that was on the 16th, so if you're looking for info on the 3 gun this weekend, hit up the other thread 🤙
I couldn't go this month anyway. Just trying to look for next one in the future.

If the projectile grabs a magnet, it’s not allowed.

“Just don’t shoot yourself”. Yup. That was the entirety of the class.
