75360791-D8C7-4100-8D74-9B0D4ED6FB71.jpeg My club (Moore Co. Wildlife Conservation Club) has been hosting what we call the Glock Knock-Off matches since last fall. The matches are set up just like GSSF formats of the indoor matches and outdoor matches, but it’s not necessary to shoot a Glock. I have been shooting revolvers exclusively for the past year and a half and we do have a division that will accommodate a revolver, but I’m slightly handicapped when it comes to plates as I can’t miss and expect to score anything reasonable (I shoot a Smith model 66 K frame).

Anyhow, I just got a shot timer today and this is my best run - with a .22 model 617. I didn’t think to get a pic of the .38 while I was running strings with it, but I was running 4:3’s with it. Match is in June, and I intend to be better by then. It’s a start!

You bet! Ten seconds added for misses adds up quickly! Trying to find a pace that I can confidently shoot the plates clean. I’m fairly new to this game and the plate rack is deceptively hard.
If you need a shooting buddy let me know....I'm pretty close to So. Pines! Lol. (Don't hold my owning a Glock against me, though, I also have a nice revolver that needs to be shot a bit!)

Come practice at the cggr steel challenge match! You'll be a steel master in no time!

Just remember, a slightly slower hit beats a real fast miss any day..
Key word is slightly. 9 out of 10 times if you go fast enough and make up the shot you'll be faster then trying to go slow. Its like when you try to swing a golf club less then 100% and end up dribbling it 10 yards.

My motto - just keep moving fast and pulling the trigger. Seems go be working ok for me.

100% agree. I like to be right on the edge of my current skill. Hit four decent strings, and push real hard.

Doubtful at cggr. They already have so many matches ran there every month. They'd probably be more likely to run a second uspsa match or another carbine match.

As someone who did 3 no shoots yesterday, I agree completely. They weight so much more than all the alphas I was doing... and a few more I didn't.
