What’s your go to? Chicken noodle soup?

for us it’s something my Grandma always made us when we were sick, she made it for her kids as well .
Egg noodles in chicken broth, with diced chicken. That’s it. Pretty simple. Always made me feel a bit better.
I always put just a little apple cider vinegar and hot sauce in mine.
Also hot lemonade with a little whiskey in it.

Or just a cup of bouillon with saltines.

Any kind of noodles with butter and salt. After covid I was craving salt.
Did you lose your sense of taste and smell? My buddy got it mildly and lost his for a week.

When I was a kid my dad would pick up some K&W when I was sick...so now when Im sick I have a craving for it.
Country style steak or some chicken pot pie. Or chicken tendies.
Mac and cheese. Mashed potatoes.
And, of course, chocolate pie.

Zycam every three hours at the first sign of symptoms then I don’t get sick. I had flu three years ago so zinc can’t beat that, but no colds since then. At least none that got a hold of me. The zinc puts them down.

chili flavored ramen
maybe crack one egg and throw it in to get a solid 3 minutes of boil

I don't even need to be sick to dig that. e.g. it's my go-to drunk food.

I’m going to try that!

As long as I'm not running a fever, chicken stew. If I've got a fever it's typically tomato soup or beef and veggie soup.
For some reason I like what I call kiddie crack, peanut butter, grape jelly and karo syrup, toast up a couple sandwhiches of that and a big bowl of soup.

In a pinch Campbell's sirloin burger soup will do.

Went up the road to Nannie Annie's and had The Best CN soup on this planet. Also had a Fried Bologna sammich ona a hamburger bun and an order of Fries. This was to celebrate my Second Vaccination shot.

--what do you like to eat--

well, since "eat" (not drink) was asked, and not "take" (as in medicine)....
hard candy. makes my throat feel better.

Chicken noodle soup with crackers, chicken broth from a box with crackers. butter biscuits with sorghum or honey, lots of Jello.

Chicken soup, peanut butter and honey sandwich, white grape juice and Sprite mixed, and a two hamburger meal from McDonald’s.

The last one may seem odd but when I was little I used to get strep throat about every two weeks until they removed my tonsils. So I was a frequent flyer at the pediatricians. There was a McDonald’s next door to the doctor’s and every time I went for an appointment, she would swing through and pick me up a hamburger happy meal. It was the one thing that made me feel better about getting a shot in my ass.

So now when I don’t feel good I just want McDonald’s.

Homemade CNS with saltines and a ginger ale that’s been in the freezer until it becomes slush.

My wife swears by the hot and sour soup you can get at almost any chinese restaurant.

Rock & Rye with lemon juice, honey, pine needles, willow bark, elderberry, and horehound, consumed warm.

It's absolutely dreadful, but it's based on something my German great aunt used to make, and I'm pretty sure it will cure AIDS, poverty, and even Kimber ownership. It'll fix your throat, stop coughing, and put you to sleep in no time.

That sounds like something my great grandma would make.

Campbell's CNS, boiling hot, with the noodles cut into small pieces, add lots of crackers and black pepper, drink from a soup mug. Chase it with Kool-Aid lemonade or Sprite that is almost frozen. (A good egg-drop soup is an acceptable alternative.)

If I am having coughing or throat problems, I make a hot tea, add lemon, honey and a shot of Southern Comfort.

Hot turkey sandwich (toasted bread) of course and a side of soup. If I’m feeling gangsta I’ll dip the sammich in the soup

We always make homemade bone broth soup here if anyone is not feeling good. Boil the crap out of an organic chicken for 4-5 hours. Pull the chicken then add celery, carrots and salt pepper and a dash or two of cayenne pepper. Sometimes I’ll add a bit of bullion. Let it simmer for a bit then add egg noddles. It’s top notch.

If your throat is bothering you peel fresh ginger root. Slice as thin as possible. Boil in water for a while (hour or so) turn down the heat and add fresh lemon juice, cayenne and honey.

I drink good apple cider vinegar in water daily no matter what my condition is.

My old technique when I felt a cold coming on was simple. I’d smoke some wings and cover them in as hot a sauce as I can eat. I‘d devour 10-15 of those bad boys while swilling beers. Lots of heat and nose running. A good buzz. Then a double shot of Nyquil before bed/passing out. Sleep for about 15 hours.

Half and half, sprite and grape juice is my sick drink.

doesn't that curdle the half and half?
I'm kidding...
but older michiganders probably remember mixing vernors and milk... if you did it wrong it did curdle.
