Watched the game last night. For what is was which was nothing more than an early pre-season game, it was passively entertaining. I am more of a college football fan, so I am excited for the beginning of the season on Sept 2nd. I have tickets to see the two time FCS national champs JMU play ECU. My wife earned her undergrad at JMU and I spent may weekends there during our courtship.

You mean your not ready to watch the Turkey shoot? My Mountaineers are gonna put to those darn Hokies!
Historically, WVU does have a slight edge over VT, but they have not beaten VT since 2005 when they last played and has only won 5 times against the VT since 1990. While they are playing at a "neutral" site (FedEx Stadium) the surrounding DC area is all VT which will play heavily in VT's favor for 85+% of the 93K seats will be Hokies. I know this for I was at the VT vs USC game. I hope that VT and WVU revive playing each other for the games were always fun to see when I was at VT. I have confidence that VT will use Mountaineer's own musket to shot off his coonskin cap in victory.
Pre-season has WVU at 20, VT at 22. Of course, from 10 on down it's pretty arbitrary as any team can go into any number of rankings.
I do not care for either team, and I suppose a 0-0 outcome is too much to ask for.....
It should be a good game. I think Va tech has an advantage because the Mountaineer QB has not played in two years. If Will Grier has the "it" factor he had for the Gators I see big things this season. I actually look for WVU to compete next year for playoff birth. I just think it's to much to ask this year.
I think it will be a very good game as I see them fairly evenly matched.
You know who I hate it for? My alma mater, ECU, who has to play both WVU and VT. They have beaten them both, but this will not be the year to repeat.
