It starts tonight, guys!

I know zip can be gleaned from pre-season hype, but I expect the Cowboys to regress this year. They are going to have too much inconsistency in the defense, and I don't think Prescott will have nearly the season he had. Not to mention the Zeke Elliott soap opera.

As much as it pains me to say it, I see the AFC being New England and everyone else, but the NFC should be interesting as there are a clump of teams that have a legit chance for playoffs: ATL, Carolina, Tampa, Dallas, New York, Green Bay, Seattle, Arizona...and no real clear 'best' in the group.

It was good to see some football last night, though...it's been a long time coming.

Watched the game last night. For what is was which was nothing more than an early pre-season game, it was passively entertaining. I am more of a college football fan, so I am excited for the beginning of the season on Sept 2nd. I have tickets to see the two time FCS national champs JMU play ECU. My wife earned her undergrad at JMU and I spent may weekends there during our courtship.

Now that will be a great game. No doubt more entertaining play to play than the over-hyped Bama-FSU game the same week.

JMU has a real shot to win, though ECU should be favored.

You mean your not ready to watch the Turkey shoot? My Mountaineers are gonna put to those darn Hokies!

Historically, WVU does have a slight edge over VT, but they have not beaten VT since 2005 when they last played and has only won 5 times against the VT since 1990. While they are playing at a "neutral" site (FedEx Stadium) the surrounding DC area is all VT which will play heavily in VT's favor for 85+% of the 93K seats will be Hokies. I know this for I was at the VT vs USC game. I hope that VT and WVU revive playing each other for the games were always fun to see when I was at VT. I have confidence that VT will use Mountaineer's own musket to shot off his coonskin cap in victory. :p

Pre-season has WVU at 20, VT at 22. Of course, from 10 on down it's pretty arbitrary as any team can go into any number of rankings.

I do not care for either team, and I suppose a 0-0 outcome is too much to ask for.....

It should be a good game. I think Va tech has an advantage because the Mountaineer QB has not played in two years. If Will Grier has the "it" factor he had for the Gators I see big things this season. I actually look for WVU to compete next year for playoff birth. I just think it's to much to ask this year.

I think it will be a very good game as I see them fairly evenly matched.

You know who I hate it for? My alma mater, ECU, who has to play both WVU and VT. They have beaten them both, but this will not be the year to repeat.

When was the last time ECU beat WVU 2008? Yeah this team is better than people are thinking.
