When flea market hopping today and bought a few things. Stopped in a Pawn shop on the way back and bought a J. C. Higgins model 101.24. Had a price tag on it of $129 Walked out with it for $50. I was thinking now the search for parts begins because the bolt would fall out of it and from what I could tell the trigger looked useless but I wasn't sure because of the lock on it. Got home and started the tear down and couldn't find anything broken. Finally realized the screw that holds the barrel to the stock was loose and causing the sear to allow the bolt to come out and also had the trigger loose. Checked the bore for obstructions and put it back together and took it out back. I got a shooter for $50. Well at least my grandson who will be born in November has a shooter. Some days you da bug some days you da windshield.
