I am ok with shooting the can target again, what do you others think about this? 🤔 As far as shooting goes, I am not a pro by a long shot!! I do enjoy shooting and talking crap! 🤪 I just want everyone to enjoy themselves and have some fun shooting targets! 🙂 Can target was April/May last year.

Are we using the same scoring rules as last time?

Printed out three of these 'can' targets today and took them to the range.
Placed them at 50 yards. Was windy, target frame moving a bit.
Scored 125 / 225, then 195 / 225, then 210 / 225.
Tippmann M4-22, Hawke Vantage IR 2-9x. CCI SV. Bipod.

This target is the only one where I counted the 12 shots needed, on the other two, I forgot to aim at some cans and hit others twice.
By fair counting, the scores on those other two were higher than this one.
But rules are rules, and the 'can' target is a 12 shot affair.
Note that here I missed one of the 20 point cans and two of the 40s in their entirety.

Two of these three misses were due to wind.
The miss on the top 40 can was me being impatient (it hit the '10' just below and to the right).

As a matter of personal policy I never take much less post pictures of any of the firearms I may or may not own after that horrible boating accident.
This is what a Tippmann M4-22 Elite looks like, without a 'scope but with the irons flipped up, and with the 25 round mag:

Not sure if this is good.
It’s horrible. But only because there are no pictures. Some people here can’t read, so we need pics! 😁

I use a desk PC to access the forum, and don't have an easy way to add pictures, like I would if I used a cell phone.
Let me see what I can do, it generally takes several steps and is time consuming.

If you were out and shooting .22's , it was good! How many shots are you allowed to take>

Just a thought but you could stay at 50 yards and see how many lid shots you can make? Lid hits count double?

Or shoot 100 yards. That’s fun too

I think we have a 3 way tie, as of right now, and I feel like with the time we have left that may increase. I am in favor of doubling the distance. If we move it to 75 yards it is likely to end in another tie requiring another shoot off.

Because the targets are so big, last time we assumed there would be multiple high scores, so we did add additional rules.

I think we got more points for lids, and I think shots breaking the outer edge didn’t count either.

Why not just shoot a new target at 75 yards? You already have the 50 yarder posted.
Did you see Smok3y reply about the additional rules that may have been added?

You could always have a shoot-off by using the pickets of the fence. 1 shot per picket, shot must land completely inside the picket to count as a hit. Shoot as many pickets as you think you will need to take the win

I gave it a try this afternoon. Squeaked out a 225 on my 2nd target so I moved it out to 75 yards and shot 2 more. Best score at 75 yards was 145. I took a photo of the target next to the 75 yard marker at the FOP range for verification. I may have to try again! 😃 View attachment 487283View attachment 487284View attachment 487285
Just saw your post, I was already planning on coming out to the FOP Range Monday morning to shoot a perfect score at 75 yards and then try it at 100 yards. This event is starting to get interesting.
Don't you have to post a picture of your Rifle set up to make the targets official?

I forgot the picture of my rifle! It is a CZ 455 with Athlon Helos BTR scope and I was shooting SK pistol match.IMG_20220424_181515.jpgIMG_20220424_181508.jpg

I’m sure my stock 1022 is never going to win, but happy to finally gotten a 50 yard range set up. Now I just need a shooting bench Need to find me a cable spool before the month is out.

The match runs for 2 months at a time, trying to give everyone plenty of time to post a target. It will be great to have you shooting with us! 😃

MAN, I JUST got my 50 yard range built… I dont
Have 100 yards!

Woke up early this morning and asked my Wife if it was OK to go shoot. She said YES!
I shot the Can Targets again and upped my previous scores. 75 yards -200pts &100 yards 105. I was using CCI Standard vel. I had trouble hitting the big cans too. I will post pictures with my rifle later.
