if I had any brains, I'd fake my death for the insurance money and flee to Costa Rica. :D:confused:

It is ungodly hot out there...I saw a woman doing lawn work and asked her "what in gods name are you doing? Go back inside before this global cooling gives us a heat stroke." :D

I had to take my yeti cooler, sit it on the back of the truck, undo the drain and take an ice shower several times.

I saw a cat today and he just laid there, too hot to get up and get petted.... though that could just be normal cat behavior,:D

The Old Soldiers Parade in Newton was a scorcher. Unbelievable what the humidity and heat was like. A bunch of the participants never showed. The usual crowd was almost nothing. This thing needs to move to a month later for heavens sake. Forget this third week in August tradition.

Today was pretty bad. Didn't have a dry spot of clothing left on me.

Just got back from a 30 mile bicycle ride. It was 94 and 104 heat index when I started.

Why do that to yourself? It's one thing if you have to be out fighting ISIS so you need to be fighting shape, but me, I'm half dead.

I mean I tell cute girls anymore that my invites for Netflix and chill, actually are Netflix and chill because I lack the energy for anything else.

It was humid, but not super hot today. Suck ot up buttercups. Change the short a few times and move on. Is the guy with the tight bike shorts and rainbow jersey the only man here? :D

I was pretty much in the AC today. It was nice. The car AC. Blew cold too...

I do it so I can ski, bike, hike and anything else my grandkids want me to do with them.

I work landscaping, today was the roughest day in the last few weeks for sure. Especially since the trucks a/c is out as well.

F*ck hot weather...

I'd be fine if it stayed a constant 35-40 degrees year round.

Amen to that! We closed on our first home last Friday and have been moving ever since. Stairs at the old rental. Two sets of stairs at our new house. Myself, a good friend and a U-Haul all week.

Lessons learned:

1. NEVER move in August.
2. Buy a ranch style home next time.
3. Hire movers for the heavy stuff.
4. Beer is no substitute for water but it does help with the + mental attitude.
5. Do not let your 6 year old label boxes with a sharpie.

Hot. Damn hot. C'mon fall and winter. I'm ready for your sweet embrace.

Blew off my real job this afternoon and worked on my remodel project, climbing ladder with nail gun to custom fit studs & such in a block-wall house with no HVAC or insulation.

Like working in a sauna. Steeeeaaammmmy....

Got lucky today.....90% was inside planning the benefit. But I work in this crap all the time. And of all the stuff on towers, you know what isn't up there?

Shade.

I was soaked when I got home. Was doing exterior trim repair today... It sucked...

Sweating balls with an injured back does not make for a good day...

Just be sure to stay hydrated out there. Heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and kidney stones are no joke. High humidity in conjunction with high temperatures will empty your body of fluids rapidly and can cause problems before you recognize them.

I've posted this before elsewhere. If you can find, or squeeze your own, fresh unpasteurized pink grapefruit juice, that is the ticket to keeping your body hydrated in this weather. Of course, don't drink it if you're on certain medications.

That pasteurized crap they sell in the grocery store that is full of refined sugar and other stuff, that also tastes awful, is not what I'm referring to. Just good ole fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice. Don't let it sit for long in the fridge however. It sours in just a few days.

I didn't work as much as "help" the A/C guy replace our unit from my golf cart. He started at 4 and finished at 6 I was with him the entire time. Then after that I got to go play the return game at The mall because my daughter didn't like her backpack for school. The second one she's tried this summer.

You must be rich. You have an air conditioned golf cart? Dang! Us West Virginia folks are moving up in the world. Glad the A/C in your golf cart got fixed.... in only two hours to boot.:D

I will admit to breaking a sweat yesterday, couple of times, watching 4 tree guys take down 2 trees. I was sweating as I handed them cold water bottles and retreated to the shade. But they got the last laugh and they left with my $900.00.....

Im a coach, we had a game last night - got to the other school at 445 and until about 8 I didnt stop sweating...and I was just standing/walking around, not playing like the kids were.
The humidity was just terrible yesterday.

Last night, before I went to bed, I checked the weather for today. When I first pulled the app up it said that current temp was 80 but heat index of 93...this was just after 10pm.

I work in a hospital now; I work out in the wee hours, and I have to walk about a mile from my parking lot to the hospital. I wear shorts and change into scrubs about an hour after I arrive; it's when I finally stop sweating.

I was in a crawlspace so not terrible but then I had to go to the landfill and it was jungle like there.

I got to cutting grass at first light today and got all 4 yards done and sprayed roundup before 11:00.

Plan to start my car shelter project soon but dang it's just too hot for all that...

This is why God, and the fine folks at Xbox gave us games like Madden, to play in nice air conditioned rooms. :D

It was a two shower, 3 change of clothes, and dip-in-pool day today.....

And about 5 beers

Being on a roof yesterday wasn't bad enough, so I decided to spend this afternoon in an attic.

If your trying to commit suicide, surely there are less excruciating ways... and don't forget to add me in the will.

I have a penchant for revolvers that needs funding.. :D

Actually I think it's masochistic - inflicting pain on one's self. A sadist inflicts pain on others.

The Masochist said to the Sadist: "Beat Me".
The Sadist said "No".

Ok, some folks like pain...either giving or receiving....just don't give me any!!! LOL
