Anybody got any experience with them? I`ve read they are either nail drivers right out of the box or group like a shotgun, especially the pre-4000 serisl no`s. I`ve read a decent amount and now I`m looking for first hand accounts of the accuracy, or lack thereof. From what I gather the trick for getting an 82g to hit the target is lapping the crown. One account I read required reaming the throat a bit.
Anyway, I got a decent deal in an unfired, still in the box, CMP Kimber 82g last weekend that I couldn`t pass up. It`s in the 8600 serial range so it`s a later rifle(they only made 10,000) . Probably drag it to the range Saturday if it doesn`t rain too hard. I made a block today that fits the hand stop rail to mount a bipod on it.
What say y`all?
