I want to cry for selfish reason. I just found out that FG&G has been selling on Gunbroker. I've noticed over the last few months I haven't seen a lot of my true loves in the store ( Chinese and good AK related stuff) I had a buddy tell me that a fried of his sold them a Chinese rifle last week. I'm in there twice a week looking those specific things. I sent them s email last night asking if they had one. Yes they answered and it was on gunbroker,, sad face for Majic. I was in there yesterday and I know it's wasn't there. So I started searching there Gunbroker adds this morning and found rhe 84s, a Mak and a Bakelite mag. That stuff is not on display in the store anywhere. I can't say I blame them for doing what's makes them the same money. Just hurts a little when I buy something there every week, might be 20 bucks, might be 800 bucks, I really like support them and will 100% still will. I guess what I'm saying is yesterday I decide to buy a maglula. I found them on eBay for 20 and theirs where 29.99. So I decided I would get there when I pay on a layaway Friday so I could support our local guys, In all honest I'm going with eBay now. I just hope they don't go gunbroker crazy like Sovereign did and could care less about the locals who helped build them up. I don't think they will, but you never know with guns sales starting to decrease. Btw I still and will only recommend them to everyone. I just know the good stuff won't b seen there anymore.

PSA is strange in that way too. You're physically standing in the store and they don't have what you want, but if you check the web site they'll have it ready to ship and can't just go grab it for you wherever it is. Once I've got to go online for something price is king. When I'm shopping in the LGS (of which FG&G is my go-to choice) I'll end up paying slightly more to support them having things physically there when I can see and play with them before buying. That's worth something to me and I'll pay for it.

They have been selling on GB for years. True story time...

Years ago, I was searching for a pre-lock 610 S&W. Finally found one on GB and looked at the location - Fuquay? WTH? Seriously? So, I called Clay and said brother I see you have a 610 on GB, and I would like to buy it without us having to do the GB thing. Give me the cash price you want and I'll be there as soon as I get back from this DC trip. Clay says I'll call you back let me get the price and stop the auction. Well, he called me back with a price that was LOWER than what I told him I would pay to stop the auction and just sell it outright. Seriously he actually said that. Anyway, Long story even longer... He couldn't stop the auction someone had bid on it before he could cancel it (all this without taking a dime from me to hold it even though I kept offering) so basically he bid on his own item, to the tune of close to $300 over what he quoted me for the price, and sold it to me the Saturday I got back. I offered to pay the difference since he was doing me such a solid, and he would have nothing to do with that offer. So with that all being said, you would be hard pressed to find me buying a new gun from anywhere other than FG&G. Clay is first rate, and they run one the best (if not the best) gun shop I know of.

Ive counted up 14 guns that I've bought from them in the last 3 yrs,, I'll still keeping I guess but now I have no reason to go in there if stuff I want is on gunbroker, lol.

I bought EVERTHING in there that has been Chinese that I saw. Never questioned the price because they where fair. Now the MAK on gunbroker is 999,, hell I can't afford that.

Sorry... I had to chuckle. It's always sad when the local store gets a true market price for an item instead of not doing the research and selling it to ya cheaper. ;) Good for them! They've always had excellent service and very fair prices the times I've been in there.

How do you search for them at GB? Nothing comes back if you try to search by seller.

I love FG&G. Bought several guns from there. People come to me all the time asking where they should go buy a firearm, and I always send them to FG&G.

One of the reasons I really respect them is that during the period that Congress was considering gun control legislation, they didn't get on the price gouging bandwagon.

Yeah they have been selling stuff on GB for years. Usually the oddball stuff, hard to sell stuff and rare stuff.

Lol,, I nor you can buy stuff off the shelf that's NOT there. That's the point I'm making. I don't buy guns online. Can't they put them for sale at the SAME price in the rack .
ill try this one more time,, if I don't see it when I'm in there I can't BUY IT. As for me saving money,, they set the price, not me. If it fair, I'll buy it, if not I can easily walk away. I'm not to much on haggling. I personally won't fondle a gun in the store unless I have intentions of buying.

My favorite LGS. Have purchased three pistols over the last year and you have a better chance of finding an extra mag there for less than anywhere else I know. :)

As long as they don't put Tommy on gunbroker I am fine with it. Wouldn't want Tommy sold off to someone out of state.

No doubt, that would be a real shame!

Yeah... I'm kinda lost why this is a sad day. This is just like any other day as near as I can tell. I'm sure those guys will find/get/sell you whatever you can legally own if you just ask 'em. You should still support your local guys (hey, this is a site run by local guys!), unless they're total dorks like one store in our area I won't mention. LOL

Its the point that the stuff was never put out for locals to see if they wanted to buy it. Regaurdless of the price. It's like they know they have s item that will bring more on a national scale,, I get that.

WE all preach to support local dealers,,how about the dealers doing the same to local buyers. I gladly pay more to them than I can buy stuff online,,but then they return the favor by bypassing local to make more money.

fuquaygun1 is their seller name.

I was there Monday, and they had H&K VP9's with night sights and 3 mags for $649, $50 off but a deal with the extras. Just noticed the min bid and BuyNow are $629.99 on GB, but with $25 shipping, and says seller does not collect sales tax. I wonder if they honor this price at the store, and you pay the sales tax? A "buddy" of mine was about to buy one.

By the way, that "buddy" bought a Sig Legion SAO from them for as good a price as could be found anywhere even with sales tax, including GB with the shipping and FFL.

Thats why I go there, the prices are hard to beat and the sales guys are top notch. That's why I bought 2 guns last Friday.

Edit,,, lost them Saturday in a sky diving accident

Thanks!

Been wondering about that for the longest time. They should put a hot-link to their items on their website or something.

It's hard to pass up that GB money. Huge market, you can usually hedge the price more than you would locally, especially for something out of the ordinary. I always used to check what trade ins were going for on GB, just in case.

they might not have them on the shelves because they're afraid of selling something in store and having someone bid on it before they can cancel it. Similar to BOG's situation if he were to buy it off the shelf and then someone bids on it before the listing is taken down it could put them in a compromising position.

But I get what your saying, I just tried to go buy a shotgun at my LGS. They had other models, but not the one I wanted. No problem, I ask if they can order it. The short answer is yes, but they would charge me 5% to order it in store and if I did it on my own there was no charge. While I appreciate him telling me to do it myself, it's annoying because I wanted to pay cash.

Bought my first AR15 in that store about 4 years ago, and I live 40 miles southwest of Charlotte. Told the guy I didn't like the ones with that "triangle thing" for a front sight, he pulled down an M&P15T and he sold it to me. I was out there on business. It was a long ride home.

Sovereign Arms always has a ton of stuff on Auction Arms (or Guns America...or both ) as does Perrys in Wendell. Its how a lot of these stores stay open.

I'm more sad there is only a couple of the old guys left. Jon moved back to the mountains. There are only a couple in there I trust without question anymore. Although I typically know what I want and have never had anyone tell me anything wrong per say.

Man they have taken so much of my money over the years. It's lost a little of its small town charm but overall I still love the place. Clay has never been NOT able to get what I want if they don't already have it.

Tommy is the man. Oh and anyone know the customer that always has a German Shepherd in the back of his truck in the parking lot? Just curious.

My son lives about a mile from the old store. He definitely knows the way to the new store, based on the amount of money he spends with them.

I've been in gun stores all over the state and I haven't found any better. Im thankful I live so close. Now knowing they aren't going put on the things I like the most I don't really see a need to go in there as much. It's probably gonna save me a lot of money, lol,,, Last week I bought 2 guns,, didn't need either, they were priced right and were somewhere I could see them.

Maybe talk to Clay and see if he'd sell a gun you find on GB for the same price. Clay seems like a very reasonable guy.

What bothers me is just this past Saturday I decided I wanted a 556 Norinco. So I found one and bought it Monday. I actually went in their Saturday to look for one,,didn't see it. If I know they would have had it I could have talked to them about it. I wouldn't have bought if the price was 1400 like on gunbroker because the 84s don't bring anywhere near what a 56s brings.I would have been in at 1200.If I have to go on GB to find what Im looking for I defiantly price shopping then.I have never bought or sold anything on GB,,I guess I need to get with the times. In the future I will 110% go there first when Im looking something. specific.

I totally understand what you are saying. I have a good friend that works weekends at Sovereign and he tells me about 80-85% of sales come from GB or online sales. I rarely buy anything at a Sovereign, only go there to BS. If I need to buy anything I go to FG&G. Just from observing how Clay has handled different situations over the years, the one word that comes to mind is reasonable. Sounds like you are a great, loyal customer and I'm sure he'd do anything to keep you coming back.

His name is Kelly. He owns Nu Art signs in Fuquay. Great guy to deal with if you need a sign or vinly.

They keep a running wish list for people. Tell them what you want and they will eventually find it. They called me over 2 years after I told them I was looking for something after they finally found it. I had forgotten I told them to get it.

Hers my story about why I made my FG&G my go too store,,,I got heavy into firearms in 2012. Bought my first AK. I wanted some extra mags. I went to Sovereign first . I dint know what time they closed( this was at closing time) as I walked up to the door the guy looked me in the eye, locked the door and just turn away. No biggie, they were closing. I left there and FG&G,People were still in the store so I walked up,,,Seen the time on the door so I turned around and started heading back to my truck. A saleguy opened the door and asked me what I needed,,I told him and he told me too come back in and they would take care of me.That meant the world to me and still does,,,earlier I stated that I had bought 14 guns from them since then,,,just thought about a VP9 and sr9c (I think I bought 2 sr's). That little gesture of letting me in to buy a mag have earned my business of 16 firearms I can remember and countless 20 bucks sales.Damn I love FGG,,,I have bought from Sovereign since but its was because FGG didn't have it when I wanted it.

This precisely. I haven't been to Sovereign in years. One of the most unfriendly shops I think I have ever stepped foot in. Not once have I ever been asked if I needed help. I don't need pampering but some common courtesy is appreciated. I felt like I was bothering the folks at the register because they had to stop their conversation to ring me up. I won't step foot in there again.

Hell, I've been locked inside FG&G on numerous occasions. They were still working with me after the doors were barred shut. Because of this, I have purchased countless items. I don't even want to count them up. It has to be at least the number Majicmike is at. I am no longer allowed in FG&G without supervision :)

Thank You All!! We appreciate you! We are here for you first and foremost and always have been. We have sold a VERY small amount online for over 11 years. We typically sell items we only have one of or odd items that may have a much larger calling online. We also sell items we just have too many of on line as well. If the item we have listed online is something we only have one of, we will not display that item because we don’t want to double sell a single item. Typically, anything we have online is less expensive in our store because again we are here for you our local clients first. If you find something that we have online for less than we have it in the store for we will GLADLY honor the lesser of the two prices for you. We also do a lot of consignments for clients on GB. If there is something online you are interested in just let us know we will gladly show you the item. Many stores use GB and other sites to keep the store front up we actually just use it as a liquidation device to keep the clutter out. I am somewhat of a neat freak and everything in our store has a place and there is no place for hundreds of one of items, we just don’t have that much room. The most important thing I want all of you to know is we are, always have been, and always will be here for you FIRST! You have taken care of us and we AIM to take care of you. Thank You!

BTW, I love reading the true stories and I actually remember most of them. Thanks again.

I was taught in life or in business that you can stick it to a person one time or you can take really good care of them and guess what most folks will remember both forever. If you treat folks well in business typically they will keep coming back, because honestly where can you go these days and get good service. Thank You for remembering.
