Before we became insanely polarized I knew many people with fairly left wing views on social policy and immigration who were staunchly defensive of gun rights as one more essential freedom. It's only recently we've all gone entirely bloody insane.

That was a good listen.

One thing that stuck me about the naive interviewer was how he thought that more laws would keep bad people from getting guns.

In 60+ years more laws have not stopped the influx of illegal drugs into this country - if anything there are more drugs available today than 60 years ago. More laws have not stopped the demand for those illegal drugs either.

Whether it’s guns or drugs, the problem is the decisions being made by people who abuse them.

We can't even keep drugs out of federal prisons.

what makes you think they want to keep drugs out of prison?

as long as someone profits from the transaction, it's always going to be in someone's best interest to make it happen regardless of the 'laws'.

There used to even be a fairly active pro-2A section on the cesspool site DailyKrap as I call it. Of course, they all got chased out by the extreme libtards.

There are also places like https://theliberalgunclub.com/phpBB3/ where a lot of the folks call themselves small govt liberals, basically they're socially liberal and often times economically conservative and pro bill of rights.

There’s one more law I believe we need. A prosecutor who doesn’t prosecute and/or judge that doesn’t sentence a criminal who used a firearm in the commission of a felony should be imprisoned for life.

Life? That's harsh even for me..

What should happen is if the criminal isn't charged the DA or Judge should do the time. One or the other, criminal or those who fail to do their job. I don't care, someone needs to do the time.

Until that happens the revolving door will only spin faster.

Or just wall off a region of the US and dump all felony inmates in there. Maybe an island somewhere......

You are learning young Padawan.

Manhattan, ready made.

The other part that wasn't emphasized in the clip was the interviewer's position of the "terror-no-fly-list" being a legitimate way to determine who has rights.

A very just and equitable system that one is.

I nominate New Jersey....
Notable nomination…. Yet there are some really good truly authentic Italian restaurants, like Umberto’s on the Green where you’d think you were filming The Godfather and a steakhouse out in Rutherford off of Rt 3 that had the hands down best filet minion I have ever had …. and it’s rural green countryside … Aw screw it …. Make it into a prison.

Spent too many years working in an industry that made data center equipment, much of it going to the financial areas after they moved out of NY after 2001.

Ahhhhhhh Hollywood. The place where they made hundreds of billions on movies of guns and killing. The place where movies warped mentally ill people into copycat killings with all types of weapons. I would say it’s pretty strange to be anti gun when you’re pushing a product full of rage, terror, and killing firing revolvers that never have to be reloaded.
