Mine is about to give up the ghost, after 11 years, replacing the hard drive with a SSD, several repairs to hinge mounts and remove tiny plastic bits from the fan area, battery replacements, and probably a few other things.

I'd buy a replacement now, but I'd rather first spend the money on a new laptop for my son in college, as his is getting up there too.
