I finally got my AR-10A out to zero this morning. The first time since I had a low profile gas block, and Midwest Industries free float hand guard installed a while back.

In the interim I picked up two MBTs just before Hurricane Florence and had one installed on this rifle around the first of this year, but as usual range time and other interests precluded its being at the top of the list........

I'll keep the review brief, the trigger is OUTSTANDING, smooth first stage, second stage breaks like the proverbial glass rod, and reset is nearly instant.

And I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.....

But on this rifle, a single stage is what I need/want. And LaRue is now making single stage MBTs.........

The reviews on the single stage aren’t nearly as positive. I wanted one but went with the two stage for that reason. If you do get one I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

And I agree. The two stage is the best value in AR triggers imo.

For what it’s worth I think my elf single is fantastic.

For the money they are hard to beat IMHO. I have them in 2 different AR15s.

Single stages are learned, no rifle I was ever issued (M-16A2 or M-4), or AR type that was true to form (pre-ban Colts, FN military collector M-16A4, hell even my Bushmaster Patrolman carbine) all have a single stage trigger.

On a target rifle, with some exceptions a two stage is fine and dandy, but on a working rifle, I'll take a single stage

In that case you could take a look at the Rise Armament RA-434 single stage. They can be had for around $120 during sales. Another great value.

That’s a shame to hear because since I’m more of a single stage fan. I feel like I’ve been spoiled by my CMC single.

Does he still ship Dillo Dust and the Beverage Entry Tool with the triggers?

I’ve never used one so I can’t say for sure. But the review I’ve read weren’t as stellar as the two stage. I’d like to try one. I might do it eventually.

No, with other purchases I've gotten a few, but the MBTs didn't rate anything more than a bumper sticker

100 yards, back up iron sights, 155 grain OTM, Hornady American Gunner

I was using the center mass hold, still need to come down a tad, maybe, depends on the measurements I've yet to take

The rifle...........

AR-10A, Troy BUIS, rear is standard dual aperture, front is fixed HK style

I have the MBT-2S and I have found it to be a solid trigger in my self built 6.5 Grendel build, for the money it is imo the BEST bang for the buck and there isn’t another trigger in the same price range that can even come close to its performance.

With that said, I still plan on picking up a Geissele 2 stage trigger to replace the 2S down the road, I had a Geissele flat bow 2 stage in my PA10 and it was noticeably better across the board for my needs.

If you are looking to get a good 2 stage trigger under $100 than the MBT series imo is hands down the only option, if you’re willing to shell out $200+ on a trigger then yes, you can certainly find better triggers.

Single stage triggers are another story and as odd as it may sound, Geissele single stage triggers are too expensive, you can pick up 3-4 single stage AR triggers as good for half the price.

Triggers are pretty subjective so I always tell people to try out as many brands as they can, personally I have found that Geissele makes hands down the best feeling/performing 2-stage triggers on the market but there are a bunch of companies making single stage units that are as good if not better, CMC, POF, Hiperfire & a couple of others are simply amazing at a fraction of the cost.

years ago i always pointed people tward the rock river 2 stage...... then the Geissele 2 stage.... now the Larue MBT.... I use a mix in my (go too) guns.......beaters get a used mil spec..... DMR guns all get the larue..... if its a warfighter or the only gun you have......Geissele ...... only exception is single stage timney.

My FFL buddy has been running the Rock River Varmint 2 stage triggers, he's paying $60 or so on sale which I imagine is a dealer discounted price. I've only dry fired the RRA but it was very nice and felt better than my stock out of the box LaRue MBT. I'm told the LaRue can be improved by swapping springs, I have not done so.

Best price I've seen so far on the RRA trigger is $78 at Right To Bear.
