Last year I bought an Atlas TH42 lathe from an older fellow who included these items. I've used the lathe for turning small parts, fixing a crown, etc and haven't needed these things, and I am by no means a machinist. Could you guys help me identify what these things are?

Idk the “proper name” but I believe pic #2 is what I’ll call an automatic releasing dye. Depth of thread is set and when it reaches that set length it kicks out and releases. It’s used on the turret as well. The handle is then rotated back around to reset the dye after threading is done.

I believe I’ve seen them in some Hardinge turret lathe videos.

I know enough to say you have a “centering chuck” in the 2nd image but I have not touched a lathe in 50 years.

I wonder if those bars are marked for depth.
The faceplate is a faceplate, but I don’t see any dogs.
I think I see a Jacobs chuck down in the cooler.

do they fit into the rusted piece that’s standing vertical in the cooler?

Is the vertical think part of a collet closer?

I’m wondering if the long rods replace the carriage drive rods, providing some type of preset where the grooves are.

The turret holder in pic 3 allows a quick transition between different tooling and installs in lieu of the tail stock.
