"Leg holster" options for PDP?

Do you want an actual leg holster? I run a drop holster off my belt and it provides adequate clearance from most things on the torso (eg chest rig) and makes draw easier. I’ve used the safariland and blue force gear belt adapters that can use an QLS mounting plate. Have been have been happy with them. some of them are compatible with a leg strap, such as the blue force gear version. however the blue force gear one only mounts to their belt system, which is excellent. I use a zip tie to lock the safariland one down into position on the belt. The 2nd link has both drop belt QLS adapters and full on leg holsters if youre looking specifically for that. I’d lean towards safariland over Blackhawk for sure, especially the serpa holster system.

For specific deals here are some links. I know some folks hate on opticsplanet, and I was one of them from 2015 through like 2021, but they’ve been solid for me over past 2 years. Returns have been easy too. Can sometimes stack coupon codes. year24 currently works, brings the safariland with QLS mounts to $64.

this blade tech adapter plate would give you option to run thigh strap. Would just need to purchase some QLS adapters with it. To me the QLS is a given because it allows swapping holsters. Otherwise am stuck with same holster all the time. For mag pouches I just run blue force gear stuff so can’t comment on others.

Thanks @92G
I will definitely need some help on what to order. This is all new to me, so if you've got the time would you be willing to give me pointers on all I'll need to buy? Seems there's a lot there!

@clay_fv

what all are you looking to setup? A range belt? I’ve built a few 2 gun belts that use a velcro under-belt. For carrying a pistol, pistol mags and rifle mags have worked great. Admittedly I am not LE nor mil so have never had to setup an actual “combat“ load out. If youd like a full kit setup I can send. Cost shouldn’t be huge, but it’s definitely a buy-once-cry-once affair especially for the belt. Skimping to cheapest elements will end costing more in long run.

quite a few guys on the forum run 2 gun, so there should be lots of good suggestions here.

That holster is good for about one use only. If you’re trying to be period correct for some early GWOT role play.

Seriously though, OP, look at drop holsters off your belt like the safariland set ups. That leg holster is almost as awful as shoulder holsters.

One of the contractors gave me a similar setup when I was in Afghanistan on a deployment. The only thing that it was nice for was riding in a vehicle BUT it also would point directly towards anybody or thing ahead of you. I ended up swapping to a mid ride UBL from safariland and have continued using it to this day.
