I’m over in TN this weekend running and working the Legion Memorial Run n Gun.

5K ,10K day matches plus a Night Match. Gonna be a busy weekend. “Lightfighter” can carry just what you need. “Operator” division has to FINISH with a 45# ruck NOT including your primary rifle, pistol, belt and chest rig…yeah. I’m running lightfighter!

All in support of and run by the 5th Special Forces Group organization that helps widows and kids of fallen 5th Group soldiers and active duty families.

Each stage is memorialized with a bio for a fallen 5th Group member. And, each runner is issued a dog tag for a KIA to carry with you. It’s a heavy burden.

These matches are notoriously difficult both shooting and physically. Wish me luck!

Either THE shooting was brutal or MY shooting was brutal. Either way, the run lived up to its reputation.

Did you get the nightforce muddy?

I ran my CZ Bren this match. The. NF rides on an AR.

I don’t want to post intel until after the match is over tomorrow. But let’s just say my Sig X5 and the Bren did just fine after a swim - full submergence - through a muddy swamp.

Jimmy's videos are always fun...here's his recap of the event. If you don't like all of the intro stuff...jump ahead to about 6:00 for Stage 1. Probably the most instense stage I've ever shot. There was no stage brief at all, just 2 SOF guys introducing themselves and then starting to yell commands while shooting over your head. Jimmy's run in this video was pretty early on in the day, they got a lot more wound up as the day went on. Tons of fun.

The "Swamp" begins around 12minutes...but watch it til the end....Jimmy is a tall guy and you'll see him go nearly chest deep in that mess. The footing was all mud and clay. Plenty of guys/gals ended up fully submerged.
